Very thrilled actually. Once I left the WT I realized that I can actually make a difference.

We have come a long way as a species and I am looking forward to furthering that progression by the time I die.

I look forward to the time when psychotic goombas such as The MadIdiot actually remembers to take their meds before posting. Hopefully, that'll come before the Generation who saw the beginning of JWD, dies off.

A brother said to me after an Elder's meeting. "One day Misery, I'll be dead and so will Bro.Such-N-So. You and Bro.So-N-Such will be sitting in on these meetings for the next forty years! Ha Ha Ha!" He genuinenly was kidding, but there's some reality behind those words. To be honest, the future ain't lookin to bright. That's why I don't get flu vaccines. I'm hoping I'll get a rare strain and croak.

I actually look forward to life and living now. I always had a strong faith before I attended the KH however the way the people there behaved put me off religion completely. They certainly did not behave in a Christlike manner at all, always criticising others and not concentrating on their own lives, always making false promises etc.

Now I am out my faith is back up to strength but I have no desire to become part of any organised religion again. This experience has completely put me off though I attended several different churches of different denominations previously as always enjoyed it.

I have met so many kind and interesting people since who are out there helping others less fortunate rather than just talking about it. These people certainly behave more like Christians that any I met in the KH though I am certain there are people in the KH who would love to do something for others but know that it would be frowned upon so therefore don't do anything.

If one lives a good honourable life there is no need to worry one iota about Armageddon when it happens, they will receive their salvation in any event. However, those that don't would need to worry and keep reminding themselves that it is just around the corner so that they can try and behave how they should.

However, since the bible is clear on the fact that it will come when no-one is expecting it surely means that all the while someone is talking about it, it is expected and won't happen.

Something else I noticed from a question and answer website that I used to use is that any JWs answering questions were always most rude, again not a Christian attitude. It is there in black and white for everyone to see just how these people really are. None of us need to say anything they have written it all themselves.

The future hasn't been written yet, as Doc Brown said. My future is a blank canvas for me to paint a beautiful picture of life, laughter, and love. Anyone that claims to know exactly what the future holds is diluted. We can only look through a looking glass darkly to know what the future holds. I choose not to focus on the future, but on the here and now. Anyone living in the past or the future is doomed to a life devoid of meaning NOW.

Haven't read the thread. Just want to answer the initial question.

I view the future as an opportunity. We can seize and capitalize upon it or we can sit back and let others do so. Either way, some will succeed and others will fail and life will go on.

The Way keeps on flowing whether we swim with or against the current.
