We are living in a time of great scientific advances, medical marvels, and fantastic achievements. We are living longer, we are striving for a greener world, and there is more freedom of though and opportunities (for women particularly) than at anyother time.
There is nothing pessermistic in my view of the world. There is great human suffering, but no more than at any other period. The only difference being we now have the mass media which can report these stories.
I am not afraid of death, I do not live in fear of judgement, I embrace the future and all it has to offer, a hope that one day we can really live in "peace and security" of our own wordly making . Yes I am thrilled and excited about the future.

"For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring." - Carl Sagan
If you're specifically asking about an afterlife, I don't base my beliefs on which hope is most beautiful. If you do, then you should highly suspect self-deception. After all, why would anyone choose to believe this over everlasting paradise?
That said, I expect my condition at death to be no different than the eons of time before I was born.

You, like all JW's are in some major denial over your own mortality.
Everyone that's ever been born that is less than 122 years old has died. No evidence of immortality, no evidence for ressurrection. Not one, tiny shred. Accept it or not - your time is limited too. Everything in the universe has a beginning and end - if 'god' wanted you to live on this planet forever... why did he put it in front of a star that will slowly eat up all it's fuel, expand to a super-giant and swallow the earth.. and then explode in a supernova?
Your 'paradise earth' and 'everlasting life' doesn't make a lick of sense.
We are so lucky that we get to live - especally those of us in this time, where we have the opportunity to explore the world and enjoy our lives in ways most people who have been born will never had a chance to. Our fellow humans worked, fought, and died to bring civilization to where we are today. I can flick a switch and have power and fresh water - and the number of people who have that luxury continues to grow. I can order food be delivered to my home without any effort at all. And we lucky few have the opportunity to go out and really help our fellow man - not just sell them snake oil and write them checks that only magic fairies can cash - but to really help people.
I for one, am so grateful for this blink of an eye.

MadJW, I arrived at this conclusion based on a review of the FACTS after I removed presuppositions I inherited as a child. You?
-
theMadJW
I threw away presuppositions when becoming a JW; that is why I'm the MAD JW! heh
Lime, every kind of artwork shows SOMETHING about the artist- as does how WE are made does. Can't SEE any of it?
What do YOUR instincts tell you? That this brief, sordid life is all there is? Or that there is SOMETHING, SOMEWHERE better ahead?
(Stop thinking WTBS)
