Burns, wouldn't that be the manly thing to do since he was so obviously wrong on that point?

BurnTheShips posted an extensive series of graphs.

Unfortunately the graphs don't appear to have any label or unit of scale on the axes, making them difficult to understand.

More unfortunately the commentary BTS has pasted is written by a molecular nanotechnologist J Storrs Hall - undoubtedly a notable scientist in his field, but his OPINIONS on climate change in general and ice cores in specific are just that, opinions.

The great thing about opinions is that we all got 'em, and as JWoods opined earlier in the thread, not everybody in a labcoat is an expert.

Nice try BTS - why not quote the peer-reviewed research <not opinions> of the 97.5% of actively publishing climatologists that responded yes to the follwing question:

"Do you think human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures?"

    Source: Doran 2009 http://tigger.uic.edu/~pdoran/012009_Doran_final.pdf

May I suggest quoting climatologist research would not fit with your ideology?

For the curious Priest who can't control his urge to bump this thread, I'm a layperson when it comes to climatology. That's why I have to stick with the scientific consensus on this and other subjects eg the 607 issue.

Anything else would be irrational - that's why I'm not surprised that it tends to be the born again fundies that most vehemently deny AGW - irrationality and conspiracy seems to appeal to certain personality types.

For a qualified subject matter expert you need Kudra.

PS - Priest - send me a link to something <anything> meaningful you have ever posted and I'll let you know if I'm interested in your qualifications. Probably not though. :-)

The First Global Revolution, A Report by the Council of the Club of Rome (King, Schneider 1991):

"The need for enemies seems to be a common historical factor. Some states have striven to overcome domestic failure and internal contradictions by blaming external enemies. The ploy of finding a scapegoat is as old as mankind itself - when things become too difficult at home, divert attention to adventure abroad. Bring the divided nation together to face an outside enemy, either a real one, or else one invented for the purpose." (p.71)

The common enemy of humanity is Man

"In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming , water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill. In their totality and their interactions these phenomena do constitute a common threat which must be confronted by everyone together. But in designating these dangers as the enemy, we fall into the trap, which we have already warned readers about, namely mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention in natural processes, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself." (p.75)

Ok, so you have none. Thanks for clearing that up. A cut n' paste'r. Gotcha!

I see. You're a sheep them. Prior to ~1500 you'd have believed the earth was flat, or the earth was the center of the universe? Your words not mine brainiac.

As opposed to an simpleton who cuts and pastes his "data" from the interwebs, and belittles those with opposing view points.

For a qualified subject matter expert you need Kudra.

Ok. Then how 'bout you stop affecting? Thanks!

There you go again. I was genuine in my question, and you go on the offensive. I've never pretended to be here to post meaningful. I'm here because I'm an ex-jw and supposedly everyone is welcome, I've made some friends here, sometimes I'm entertained. That's it. But since you can't think outside of "scientific consensus" I don't expect you to get it

SO go ahead an needle away about me bumping your thread. It's your way of deflecting. Good job son.

Wow Priest - I'm so traumatized that you've uncovered my dirty little secret - breaking news - ...Besty is not a climate scientist....

    We report. You decide.

I've collated your entire contribution to this thread. I was curious as to what exactly your 7,500 posts are made up of:

Doh! and you are? HUh? jinx Oh don't flatter yourself. You think exposing your sister's lies is stalking? I've got 99 problems but a beks aint one. whatever. You guys need a better hobby. Might I suggest debating other myths such as Big Foot, The Tooth Fairy or Jesus? Or philatelics? Besty, You REALLY need a new hobby. The data can be interprated in a way to support both sides, chose the religion of global warming, Others don't. Now feel free to belittle me. I don't c are. I'm wearing long pants in December for the first time in 10 years, so I intend to up my carbon foot print. GO GLOBAL WARMING!!! BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH So? Your point? I realized (Unlike the bleeding hearts) along time ago that I'm not here for a long time, I'm here for a GOOD time. If that means I have to burn a polar bear or a liberal to keep warm or for a laugh then so be it. GO GLOBAL WARMING!!! Sure, so every high school educated left wing liberal supporter that you have on this site can cheer you on. You got it buddy! GO GLOBAL WARMING!!! You're a broken record Pauly. Give it a rest. Or at least start your fairy tales with "Once Upon a Time" Thanks in advance. Boo-phucking-hoo. I'm buying a wood burning car. Throw another polar bear on the fire. It's getting chilly up in here! GO GLOBAL WARMING!!! Sorry Paulie, was a little longer that 15. My bad. I was busy buring fossil fuels. I do what I can. Unfotunately I'm done for the night. I'm limited to 10 bumps a night! Besty, What are your credientials? Education? I mean no disrespect, I'm only curious. O k, so you have none. Thanks for clearing that up. A cut n' paste'r. Gotcha! I see. You're a sheep them.
