    Leviticus 21

    Rules for Priests

1 The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: 'A priest must not make himself ceremonially unclean for any of his people who die, 2 except for a close relative, such as his mother or father, his son or daughter, his brother, 3 or an unmarried sister who is dependent on him since she has no husband—for her he may make himself unclean. 4 He must not make himself unclean for people related to him by marriage, [a] and so defile himself. NIV

Also....Leviticus 20:20,21. The couples are condemned to die childless....what if a pregnancy occured. What happens to the child?

Child-less means no child, I believe. And a good thing, too. If they did have a child (SIL & aunt) by him, what would the child call its parents, Aunt Mama and Uncle Daddy?

    Sylvia

I need to ask....what does Leviticus 21:1-3 (referring to a high priest),mean when it says "and for his sister, a virgin who is close to him, who has not become a man's, for her he may defile himself"?
    Sounds sick

    PSac-

The same critical criteria we used to deconstruct our former belief system works equally well with other religious philosophies.

Some things but certainly not limited to:

Did the beliefs build a better individual. How were opposing beliefs and dissent dealt with. Did a person develop a self centeredness about their beliefs feelings others were lost and only they were saved. Did one's beliefs lead to the harm or endangerment of others. Well we've just exposed and shot down the post Jesus era Church of the past 1900 years. If we can say the Society was harmful and dangerous because of XX factors what does it say about the fallicies and superstitions of the Bishops and their nuttiness......ain't good that's for sure.

    I was never a JW.

Here is the thing, let us use the RCC as an example, since they are the biggest and arguably, the rottenest to the core.

There is really not Doctrine in the RCC that advocates hate, oppression, intolerance or anything like that.

Sure ANY doctrine can haveits original meaning perverted by extermists but then NO doctrine, religoous or otherwise, is valid.

Catholics, Protestant, Church of England all practiced sending, what they viewed as heretics, to Hell by torturous executions. Remeber your History lessons with the paintings and engravings of Burnings and Disembowelments. Lovely people, Hell was the gateway Doctrine they used to justify such barbarism. Oh its rotten all right, the whole of that ideology is rotten. History, fortunately, recorded it all because these asses actually bragged about doing God's Will with this crap.

So back to the original point- If the Society is wrong because of X, then Trinitarianism is wholely wrong also because of its X.

Theological Algebra see how nice it works

You are now Free to pursue good stewardship

    Galatians 1:6-9 (English Standard Version)

    No Other Gospel
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. Blessings, Stephen

designs, as a good friend at church mentioned once, we won't get a theological test at the pearly gates, there is just one test to pass.

    Matthew 7:23 (New International Version)

23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you.

Being a good steward is not the requirement, knowing Jesus is.

See Stephen, you are as stuck as any Witness about religion's hold on people and all of these fears about what God will do to someone who isn't like you who believe some mystical Jesus who tortures. But I am glad you expose your religious bent for all to examine. That's the sure fire cure.

Rosary beads, Juju beads, Hell's bells you and your Regular Pioneer Fundamentalist buddies sure got your mojo going in the wrong direction.

Care for the earth and the people and the generations to come they'll be around for a long time.

I gave up extrem view points with bell bottoms, sorry.

While many things in this world are right or wrong or black or white if you prefer, there are also many that are shades of Gray.

I know that many people that were JW's still have that "our/my way or highway" mentality so things must either be THIS way or NOT, but I am not one of those people.

2 Corinthians 13:5 (New International Version)

5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

    Blessings,

    Stephen
