I think - based on all this admitted hearsay - that no one has either the facts and ability to judge this couple. As a couple of posters have pointed out, they're not breaking the law and so there is no one to turn them in TO. Nor are they living the high life on food stamps. Just leave them be.

I don't know about the statistics, but a good percentage probably is crazy or retarded and the rest are stuck in those people's family and friend circles.
A crime is a crime, and if citizens don't report it, they are just encouraging it.

I didnt pull this information from the National Inquire . Its not like ya'll are elders and I'm sitting before you, accusing these people in real life.

I'm with Moshe on this: it's pathetic how JW's are taught that the entire world is under the control of Satan and how we should be no part of it, yet they have absolutely no problem in sucking every dime they can out of government programs while 'pioneering'. Years ago (at least in our area), they generally would not let you pioneer if you were on welfare or disability as they thought it set an incredibly bad example. Times changed though and if they want better stats, then you better lighten up on how a person supports themselves. I know of at least 3 people around here who 'pioneer' while collecting a Disability cheque. Hmmmm......maybe I should make a couple of calls...........
It's not that I care if someone genuinely needs welfare, foodstamps etc. due to the economic crisis. That's what it's there for. But I do find it disgusting when I see people milking the system as it costs the taxpayers billions of dollars each year.

No-one is going to do any such thing. I don't think this family is doing what's right for the kid. Getting in trouble for this might be just the thing they need to give their heads a shake. This couple needs a kick in the pants to get them to re-evaluate things...

Maybe it is time to not judge someone. You don't know what they are going through. We always thought we were so much more righteous than everyone else when we were JWs. Maybe it's time to stop having that attitude.
What if she is depressed and feels like she can't work anymore? What if she thinks that she will be killed by God because she can't do enough for the society? What if she really is injured and you just don't know it?
How bout this...stop judging and stop thinking that you are better than anyone else. Maybe she actually NEEDS the support of the system for a reason that you have NO IDEA about!!!!!!!!!!!
