If Armageddon came tomorrow, would Jehovah kill a billion children?

because, frankly, it's such a bore at this point in my life.

If you are so incredibly bored by this 30 year old recent born-again, then why post here? Sounds like you enjoy your boredom.

You believe that God magically uses his spirit to call specific individuals

And this comment shows that you DO NOT know what I believe. It also shows me that you weren't born again and still think Christianity is based on JW theology. Obviously the Spirit is not magic. He is a person.

But I agree that we can agree to disagree, and I will no longer talk with you about this subject since you are so much more educated than me in every subject including the Bible.

I just wish you didn't take it to the personal level and bring out my age as if you being old has any bearing. The GB are old and they are fools. (Not saying anything about you of course... )

Exodus 20:25 "Thou shalt not make passive-aggressive comments as a means to get a final shot in. This is dirty pool before mine eyes, sayeth the LORD."

Brother dan, I'm speaking for myself only, but I don't see people rejecting "God", I see them rejecting the god of the Old Testament. That is a big difference.

Please, if you could answer these two questions for me:

    1. Who is the "God" of Psalms 82:1 who is "stationing himself in the Assembly of the Divine One, in the middle of the gods he judges"?

    2. If Jehovah is the Supreme God, and he receives Israel as an inheritance, who gives it to him?

Not as big of a difference as you may think.

Psalms 82:1 is clear. It is speaking of Jesus ruling in the midst of human rulers. John 10:34 refers to this scripture directly when Jesus said, "“‘I said, you are gods’” I'm not sure if you were trying to use this scripture to prove polytheism...

Also, since "Jehovah" is used when speaking (at different times) of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the account of Jehovah "inheriting" Israel would be speaking of Jesus inheriting it from his Father.

I don't see the problem here.

Not regarding the truth of the Bible that God is "real" and derving of respect, and that Jesus is the Christ.

Ex 20:25 - If you use stones to build my altar, use only natural, uncut stones. Do not shape the stones with a tool, for that would make the altar unfit for holy use.

But touche'. It was passive agressive. But he was the one calling my age into question and trying to turn the debate personal. That's what is done in a debate when you feel backed into a corner. But you're right. I'll leave it at "Agree to disagree"

Brother dan, "Elohim" is a plural word that means multiple gods and goddesses. The Jews were originally polytheistic. How do we know at what point exactly that they received "The Truth"?
