I didn't say you can't "love it", just...don't forget it.
By the way, nothing I've said is out of sarcasm...just sharing thoughts. Please, no harm intended....
Jesus needs to save us from that kind of God.
According to the Bible's story, has mankind ever really had the chance to rule themselves? If the fighting between the God's was taken out of the pciture, would mankind have progressed even further?
God is blatantly human as depicted in sacred texts. He has our limitations and our flaws. A good example is to read about his temperment. Wrath is not a trait that would be found in such a superiour entity. He would not be "slow to anger" he wouldtranscend anger. All of God's traits in the Bible can be viewed simply by communing with your peers or simply looking in the mirror. Amazing people exist and are ignored because they carry the "human" tag.
You mentioned an assumption I made earlier, so I'm sure that you can see the assumption you are making here as well :)

Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean.

You made statements about what a superior entity would feel. Is that not an assumption on your part; just as it is an assumption on my part that I do not have higher morality than God. (though I do have my own moral code/weaknesses to draw upon for my part)

If a 'Jehovah' suddenly came back to life, and ordered a purge but I was still alive, I would laugh in his face. Imagine a god who needs anger-management classes... it's too silly..

It's less of an assumption than it is an educated guess. It isn't based on how I think God "feels." I haven't really spelled out my complete theory of God so it's only natural for you to think I am making blind assumptions about the nature of God.
I'm not interested in speculating, I am interested in finding answers. The way I see it the Bible depicts God as omnipotent when the things he did and his alleged plan clearly indicates, to me, that he is not omnipotent. This spawns one of three reasonable explanations: 1)The Bible God doesn't want us to know his limits (ie he doesn't want us to know what he truly is) - 2)The Bible God does not exist - 3)The Bible God is purposefully confusing or tricking us for some reason
There are other less viable explanations but they always seem to be an offshoot of one of the three above.

I would argue and haggle with God, just like Abe did.
I would remind God that God is Love and compassion, I would remind God that His Son Died for Us and that His death was NOT in vain.
I would remind God that he faith he placed in Us is not misplaced and that while imprefect, our potential is great and I would ask WHY he would order something that is against His nature as revealed by His Son to Us.
