I believe in God. He is not the conventional Bible god at all. I believe Jesus is Jesus. I am a universalist. I believe the Bible is a history of ancient peoples and of their experience/concept of god(s).

I believe there is some truth in the Bible, some good wisdom. And there may be truths about God. But I believe the book to be man written. All that violence and anything ridiculous or crazy definitely was not inspired by God.

I don't believe in either one, not one single bit.

I believe in the energy of the universe and that everything is linked to everything else like a web.

When leaving wts I too believed in Jehovah, Jesus and the bible. But as time went on and more researched I did past wts BS, I realized that not only was wts full of shit but also the bible. So I would consider myself agnostic, there may be a god out there, but definitely not a bible god. I think many of us who leave high control groups tend to research more than less when it comes to god and that's the reason why majority come to the conclusion that the bible is just another book written by men for men.

Yup...I believe in God/All That Is, and Jesus. The bible is a book of history and metaphors. I don't blieve the GB or WTS has a grasp of God, the historical Christ and Apostles nor the bible it self.

I've been out for a little over 20 years. I don't go to any church.

    Hey tornapart!

As a 3rd gen born-in my faith journey began after 4 decades when asked to explain the gospel in one word. I chose to yield to the red flag of my total ignorance on such a basic topic.

After following the gospel, piecing fragment by fragment together in the Watchtower, a compelling, detailed, powerful and supernatural picture emerged - it was as if I could now see in 4D and beyond. I yielded to this too which meant I was starting to follow Jesus rather than the WBT$/GB/FDS.

The situation became untenable after just 3½ years and our family walked out in tact never to return. I have come to conclude that self-righteous religion is used by the "god of religion" (the devil) to prevent us from telling the baby (gospel, faith, salvation) from the bathwater (religion). The idea is that we will eventually conclude we have been spiritually raped by the "god of Abraham" and will hate and reject him henceforth (without ever having come to KNOW him and hear his message).

At any rate the Bible has come alive as never before and I celebrate no longer having to follow spiritually blind, confused, inebriated and insane religious leaders. I have gone from having knowledge about Jesus to knowing him personally where he is MY mediator, Lord, saviour, high-priest, deliverer/liberator, atoner/reconciler, restorer, older brother and more. It is an unfolding journey which is not without challenges.

I have been saved from the legal authority of satan, sin (dysfunction), sickness, suffering and death. I am being saved from the power of satan, sin (dysfunction), sickness, suffering and death. I will be saved from the presence of satan, sin (dysfunction), sickness, suffering and death.

I am delighted to be free of religion and the WBT$ (arsenic) although I do grieve the loss of that which seemed to be honey (friends, community).

    Greetings and blessings

    Religion/ists taught me to be anti-sex, anti-gays, anti-science, anti-education, anti-justification, anti-sanctification, anti-faith, anti-salvation, anti-spirituality, anti-Christ and of course pro-religion!

I am now anti-religion and pro the rest!

I have gone from conservative to liberal (personality/orientation/worldview not politics).

I have gone from intimacy with the "god of religion" to intimacy with the "god of Abraham".

A spiritual lobotomy - spiritually regenerated and re-imaged!

Thankyou everyone for your answers. I certainly got more than I expected! It's very interesting reading everyone's own personal feelings. I'm sorry if I offended anyone with the way I put my question, I didn't mean to be offensive in anyway. As for my own personal views they are much like yours Fernando.

I still believe in God because of the awesomeness of the universe and the diversity of life on earth and its perfect balance. I just can't believe it came by chance. I still believe in the bible because of the way it has stood the test of time and that despite its many different writers over centuries it maintains a certain harmony. Of course it takes faith. Faith to me is believing something that 1) Can't be seen and 2) Can't be proven. But there are many other things in life that take faith and not just these things.

What I love and have always loved is being able to be free to believe in my own way and to respect the views, beliefs and opinions of everyone else too. What I absolutely hate is the way religion takes control of a persons thoughts, actions and personal life.. telling us what we must believe and what we should do, To me having a free will and a free choice is a gift. Religion takes that gift away from us.

It is not chance. It is what matter does. I suggest you read "The magic of Reality", a wonderfully written and illustrated book, that explains the theory of evolution in a simple and extremely succinct way. It may not change your mind, but at least you will understand why "chance" is not involved.
