Tec. Sorry if that got personal. It was late, and I should have been more careful. It is how the entire thing felt like to me, and I wasn't really thinking of you personally, but the entire thought process involved.

I wasn't calling you out by that (or I'd have pressed for an answer to the question I asked). It only became personal because I allowed it to, and I meant not to do that. That is what I apologized for. So no worries. Moving on...

    Peace,

And that is why, my dear friends, I have more in common with the atheists than with the believers.
The scripture is understood wrong so atheists reject it. But believers embrace it despite it's slanderous nature.

    I hear you on this.

I was visiting with two of my cousins. One was a firm believer---fundamental even---but still totally cool to hang out with. Usually fundamentalists just aren't fun, but she has found some kind of balance. The other cousin is a lot like me. Well agnostic cousin stirred up a little troube (not real trouble) in an attempt to engage me in a conversation with believer cousin. We talked a little bit, but then believer cousin looked at me and said,

I don't care. I want to believe. I don't care about science or history. I believe in creation, and I don't want to investigate. I just want to believe.

I actually laughed. It was the most honest thing I ever heard a believer say. She was aware that science could debunk creation, therefore she didn't want to look at science---she just wanted to believe. I actually couldn't fault that. I'm 100% sure I have believed things just because I wanted them to be true. And she really is fun to hang out with. She is not self-righteous or vanilla in all her actions and speech. She knows what she thinks inside, and doesn't get caught up in all the external stuff. Which is interesting too.

Its funny, I dont have to use mental gymnastics, excuses, gut feelings or voices in my head to defend my decisions. I just stick to the facts.

The best cooment on here so far is that "some people have it some people dont" regarding faith. That kind of sums it all up for me. If someone can say that without seeing the irony, their eyes are held tightly shut.

It is so nice to be free :)

To everyone on the forum, today...enjoy being free of the WTBTS, for so many wish they were free.

An extra bit of enjoment it you went the whole hog and dismissed the Jewish myth stories from the desert.

can you tell me one really important thing that the bible says which is a result of mistranslation or "lying scribes"? Something that would make a significant difference to your beliefs?

I believe God is good. If I am to believe the scribe that wrote Deuteronomy 3:6 I can not also believe "God is good".

What is written is descriptive of evil. God is not evil. So either 1. God isn't or 2. Someone screwed up the translation or 3. Jesus isn't real.

I believe God and Jesus are real. Sometimes I have wondered if the Bible is or isn't a modern trick. I want to believe the Bible is helpful and true.

So I look up Deuteronomy 3:6 and look at it very closely.

There is no evidence that I can discern that it says what they made it to say which is God condoned the killing of all of Heshbon. So what does it mean? I believe it tells the reason why all of Og's men were destroyed. Because they had wiped out Heshbon, now Jah would wipe out them. (notice it does not mention the women and children of Bashan, just all the people who were with Og king of Bashan.)

    Watch this Tec and N.Drew

Youtube search " Nonstampcollector A personal relationship with Jesus"

    and " Bible Quiz contradictions"

How can you claim to know the truth between the human crap in the bible.

I've watched the nonstampcollector's videos, Snare, but thanks.

    Also seen the quiz thing.

And I said already that Christ is the Truth and it is Him that I follow. Through Him that I can see God. Nancy uses love to determine... and I do as well; just as she probably also uses Christ to determine the truth of matters.

My computer is mute. I have plenty of time to fix it (though not on Monday) but I don't want to. Are there subtitles? I could look I suppose. Why is no one commenting on my post about bad god, Good God?

Yes! Christ son of Mary, son of Joseph is the best reflection of love that I can imagine. I love everything about it all (except Paul). Some of you are so convincing that Paul I mean Saul, or Paul is a jerk. But if he can hear me I hope he is not like some here who are so easily offended. OK me too. Because if something is true it is true even if it sounds or feels offensive, right?

Do you two actually believe in the virgin rape?

As women do you have no issue with this god impreganating a woman without her consent and against her will? Ruining her life! No problem at all with that?

So that god could give birth to himself through a jewish virgin ........ :/

    Christ on a bike ! Indeed !

I believe she did give her consent. How do you read differently?

Luke 1:38 38 And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
