Is Biblical Morality Situational, Based Upon the Arbitrary Whims of Yahweh?

I just took my dog on a walk. I chose to not walk him to a spot I usually walk him to, but rather took a shortcut. I sat down at my computer which for some reason my cookies were cleared and I had to relogin to JWN. Then I nagivated to the active topics in my favorites only to see that your post 1968 had been posted within the same minute of me sitting down. What do you think the odds are of that?

So, given all the time you've had, have you produced a scripture that shows God chose Abraham because of his genetics, that he was a grape or Noah was a puppy, as you claimed?

My therum involves every scripture I had given since I addressed LWT on page three. At this point I feel good where my therum stands. It's not perfect, but I am very sold that God knows how to grow morality. Are there quicker ways to do it? That's a fair question, but I think morality is required for what we call quality of life which is a topic in of itself that is ever evolving. To me that's what the Bible is asking us to do: to hold on tight while a mystical refining process takes place that involved hard work on our part. I think Revelation puts it elequently.

Revelation 2 - 7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
Revelation 3 - 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Truth is definitely a fight and it's worth fighting for. How do you convince a chimp to do the right thing? Maybe the Bible should have the sub title of "What is human?"

"Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!"

That makes sense because Solomon, or the character at least, seems to represent the Eastern idealogy of nothingness. Nothing matters so everything matters...or not, very early atheist which now rules china with an iron fist.

The Three Principles of the People, also translated as Three People's Principles, or collectively San-min Doctrine, is a political philosophy developed by Sun Yat-sen as part of a philosophy to make China a free, prosperous, and powerful nation. Its legacy of implementation is most apparent in the governmental organization of the Republic of China (ROC), which currently administers Taiwan, Penghu, Quemoy , and Matsu Islands. This philosophy has been claimed as the cornerstone of the Republic of China's policy as carried by the Kuomintang (KMT). The principles also appear in the first line of the National Anthem of the Republic of China. The three principles are often translated and summarized as nationalism, democracy, and the livelihood of the people.

Proverbs - 1 Better a dry crust with peace and quiet
than a house full of feasting, with strife.

Solomon thought he had it all solved. If we just all realized we were apes and sought peace and quiet it would all work out. He is essentially throwing his hands in the air which is much the feeling I get from modern atheists. They simply insist we wait on their snail pace methods. Solomon was a noble and his family coveted his wealth and power. Inheritance has always been a hot topic for us and it drove him a little coocoo, but I can't judge too much once I start researching what it was actually like. Trapped in apes body where everyone believed they were human.

What do you think the odds are of that?

Since it happened, the odds were 1. On a more general scale, the odds were the same as any other minute.

    Theorum, you mean?

    So, got the scripture yet?

So, got the scriptures to back you up yet?

    Genesis 1-3; 6:5, 8; 12:12; 21:8-12; Job 6: 1-12; 1 Tim 3:16; Jude 1-24; Psalms 12:1-8; 2 Kings 2: 24-25; Revelation 2:7; 3:11; Proverbs 17:1;

    the·o·rem /'THe?r?m/
    Noun:
    1. A general proposition not self-evident but proved by a chain of reasoning; a truth established by means of accepted truths.
    2. A rule in algebra or other branches of mathematics expressed by symbols or formulae.

^ I attest that the above scriptures and my commentary in this thread are a chain of reasoning. Enough to be called a theorem. Interesting that word starts with theo:

Theo is a given name, deriving from the Greek word Theos which means god, short for many different names in which 'Theo-' is the first element, for example:

The Book of Abraham is a fraud.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Abraham

The Book of Abraham is a 1835 work produced by Joseph Smith [1] that he said was based on Egyptian papyri purchased from a traveling mummy exhibition. According to Smith, the book was "a translation of some ancient records ... purporting to be the writings of Abraham, while he was in Egypt, called the Book of Abraham, written by his own hand, upon papyrus". [2] Smith's translation of the papyri describes a story of Abraham's early life, including a vision of thecosmos.

The work was canonized in 1880 by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) as part of its Pearl of Great Price. [1] Thus, it forms a doctrinal foundation for the LDS Church and Mormon fundamentalist denominations of the Latter Day Saint movement. It is not considered to be a religious text by the Community of Christ. Other sects in the Latter Day Saint movement have various opinions regarding the Book of Abraham, with some rejecting and some accepting the text as inspired scripture. The book contains several doctrines that are unique to Mormonism, such as the concept of God organizing eternal, pre-existing elements to create the universe instead of creating it ex nihilo.

The Book of Abraham papyri were thought lost in the 1871 Great Chicago Fire. However, in 1966 several fragments of the papyri were found in the archives of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and in the LDS Church archives. They are now referred to as the Joseph Smith Papyri. Upon examination by professional Mormon and non-Mormon Egyptologists, the papyri were found to bear no resemblance to Joseph Smith's interpretation, and were common Egyptian funerary texts, dating to about the first century BC. As a result, the Book of Abraham has been the source of significant controversy, with Mormon apologists offering a variety of explanations as to the reason for the differences.

Theres also a good doco on youtube, that describes the entire story, particularly the bit how the source scroll which they bought from a travelling merchant, that contains the book doesnt even mention Abraham.
