The Bible and Genetics

Sorry I don't understand this phrase, could you elaborate briefly?

The Bible Oracle System and it's style has been wrongly imposed upon cultures in various ways and degrees since the first word of Genesis was made official. Swords have been used to kill many people. Being against swords is akin to being against the Bible because of the pain people have caused in it's name and word. By the end of this blog I, hopefully, will have explained why the entire Bible, section by section, is perfectly moral in whole, however extremely misunderstood. In fact I believe that it's original intention was to be a moral textbook. Your entire argument is based on the wrong caused from it. I agree, we need to move away from this book, because it makes people crazy. However it should not be part of some proverbial book burning. It should not be held accountable for anything because that detracts from the true cause of the pain and suffering: us all along making the wrong choices. The book should be celebrated as an achievement of morality that could have been imparted upon the populace when it was written. Our ancient's very often turned the Sword on their own people instead of using it to protect them.

You have an impossible task to show the bible is intrinsically ethical.

It is a deeply immoral book that contains no signs of extra-human origin. If you are going to try to polish a turd I will drop out the conversation and leave you to it.

p.s. - You still haven't explained what this has got to do with genetics.

Perhaps, but we're on the topic now which was your first complaint. I know you have a lot of them, I did too. So far, I have demonstrated YHWH to be the scientist of the story. He is the Creator of everything, but still seems to have to play his own game. There are rules, which is a very important fact to keep in mind. The rules do not change otherwise there would be no game. The game changes from one type to the next, but the rules need be set for long periods of time to come to fruition.

Only in your own mind Sab. Nothing wrong with flights of fancy but I will take my leave.

Sab - I mean no disrespect but what do you think the chances are of you discovering a previously hidden key to unlocking an esoteric understanding of the bible?

You are going where Russell and Rutherford and Mary Baker Eddy and Ellen G White and countless others have gone before.

I respect your search for truth but trying to find an over-arching unifying theme to the bible is a fools errand.

Why not spend your passion for discovery by studying real science. Be humble and immerse yourself in trying to grasp the things we already know to be true before you try to push the boundaries.

Bronze aged desert dweller had the key to genetics? damn that would have been helpful.

Sab---what Cofty said. Give science a chance. You have a curious mind and a willingness to learn. You may find that you are absolutely delighted with what you find there. I know I was. I took a physical anthropology class, and what it has done to my worldview is more than I can express. Science is as close to magic as we are going to get, and it's awesome dude!

Disclaiimer: I've read none of this thread, and am in a 'mood', so forgive if I've missed the mark.

I understand. I don't fit perfectly in the below description, but I identify with a lot of it.

Description of Enneagram Type Seven: The Epicure

Sevens are motivated by the need to be happy and to stay busy by keeping their options open and constantly making plans for new experiences. They view life as a fun-filled adventure, yet they also want to contribute to the world. Boredom, suffering, painful emotions, and the everyday drudgeries of life are avoided. Sevens are constant seekers of excitement. Attention naturally goes to options and keeping life up.

Healthy Sevens Are: Optimistic, enthusiastic, spontaneous, idealistic, curious, generous, and often multitalented. They uplift and enliven others and are fun to be around.

Unhealthy Sevens Can Be: Self-centered, self-indulgent, insensitive, narcissistic, hyperactive, undisciplined, and have problems with completion and long-term commitments.

    Strengths (healthy attributes)

    · Spontaneity and light-hearted, high energy

    · Enthusiasm, optimism, and zest for life

    · An adventurous, playful, pleasure-loving spirit

    · Resilience and flexibility

    · Idealism

    · Mental quickness, inventiveness, and resourcefulness

    · Ability to reframe negatives into positives

    · Ability to see alternatives and possibilities

    · Healthy self-interest and independence

    Weaknesses (average to unhealthy attributes)

    · Aversion to limitation or constraint of freedom

    · Insatiability for new experiences, interests, and ideas

    · Escapism and extreme changeability

    · Tendency to rationalize and reframe negatives into positives

    · Self-centeredness and narcissism

    · Avoidance of painful feelings and the “dark side” of life

    · Spurn emotional commitment

    · Impatience, wanting more stimulation to keep life “up”

    · Being overbooked and living an excessive lifestyle

I think that the very fact that I can identify with a document of this kind is evidence of extraordinary patterns in human behavior. The Bible is much like a Personality Enneagram. An ancient pocket counciler if you will.

I'm a little worried, but not too much. I just always pause a bit when someone says they went into a room for a few months and came out anew.
