    From the transcript:

However, this is the second point, if we are in regular contact with a minor, someone under the age of 18, we may still be required by law to have a Working with Children Check (my underlining)

This is simply wrong. As I understand WWC (and I live in Melbourne) you need the WWC card if there is a possiblility that your work or volunteering could be with children, and you need the card before you come into contact with children.

For example I'm a palliative care volunteer, and have so far not worked with children, but as a condition of being a recognised volunteer I do have a current WWC card. So surely any JW who engages in field service should have to get the WWC card first?

"Unlike many religious organisations, congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses do not sponsor any activities that separate, or isolate, children from their parents. For example, we do not organise Sunday Schools, camps, excursions, religious instructions at schools, or any other activities for children."

Yeah, right. But you practice SHUNNING

the cause of the pedo problem is the bible itself. nowhere does the bible say anything remotely against pedophilia or child rape. xians like jw pedos feel they must obey the bible over the laws of man. the bible by omission gives a green light to pedophilia thus the wts allows it to continue.

    He said BORG??? wow!

That tells me this elder is either a viewer/member on "apostate" websites where the word "borg" for the organisation is used regularly, or he's a trekkie who's worked out the connection himself.

I'm more inclined to think its the first one.

Hey, how many elders are really closet apostates?? I bet there's quite a few.

" We do not organise religous instruction in schools " ? So their throwing the pioneer ? to the wolves on this one as well ? When my children were at school pioneers would come to the school to give religous instruction to JW children .!!

Anybody can read a letter and pretend it was the actual congregational reading, can he not?

Secondly, it might be different elsewhere, but where I live, a JW definitely is NOT a representative of the WB&TS, he is a JW, but the only representatives of the WB&TS are the COs, DOs etc.

Okay, a couple of things already covered. I can claim a personal ministry without reporting to WT or a cong. monthly if I was never a representative. I can dress as I like for my personal ministry.

As a non-elder, a JW can not take the WWC stuff and s/he can say "Sorry, Bro. Elder. I cannot take the Smith child door-to-door with me. My personal ministry does not include children." A great duck on responsibility.

This is astonishing. I wonder what JWs in other countries would think if they knew they were no longer representing the Watchtower.

That is not a new understanding, it is just a rarely stated one ...

    *** km 2/89 p. 3 Our Identification as Jehovah's Witnesses ***
As ministers of the good news, we are known publicly as Jehovah's Witnesses. Our voluntary participation in the field service is motivated by love of God and neighbor. It is not carried on at the insistence of any man or organization but is according to our God-given commission to preach the "good news" and make disciples. (Matt. 24:14; 28:19, 20) Therefore, publishers do well to avoid representing themselves as agents or representatives of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., or any other corporation used by "the faithful and discreet slave" to advance Kingdom interests.-Matt. 24:45-47.
