When science comes up with a new cure for a diease there are people there to makesure that it is available to the public.
When the WT enforces a doctrine it uses fear and guilt to prevent people from listening to the apposing side.
Does science dismiss the apposing side without carefully examing all the evidence?
The Bible is a two edged sword wield it for evil and it you may get hurt.

Bad analogy. Science doesn't claim to be the sole and exclusive mouthpiece for God. Anyone who claims that should be held to the highest of standards, and the WTS fails on almost all counts.

"Science" is not a company. It's not an organization. "Science" doesn't have a board of directors or legal advisors or propagandists. Some scientific groups or businesses have those things, no doubt, but those would be specific to each organization. In fact, if you look at pharmaceutical companies, you'll find they are held accountable when their products damage life quality or result in death. They are not held responsible for all deaths of X illness prior to their manufacturing a pill to treat said illness- because that would be idiocy. They ARE liable when a product they create to treat X illness bears truly negative results (death/damage).
If you look at organ transplantation- there were no bans on such a medical treatment prior to 1967 in watchtower writings (correct me if I'm wrong). However after 1967, when they enacted a ban- people died as a result of THEIR ban. The watchtowers PLACEBO failed. Which is why they "recalled" it in 1980.
Now, like tobacco makers- they can argue that people willingly complied- but everybody knows that argument has seen it's day in court for tobacco companies and been shot down. I figure at some point or other the 'tower will have a similar situation in courts as well.
So, in short "science" is a field of study that has numerous branches and uses. It isn't a company. You are trying to compare a field of study to a company. That won't work as analogy in any manner, it's broad and unspecific not mention their is no discernable relationship between these things.

Does everyone remember this reasoning with the New Light on Alternative Service?
The comment was made that even though this should have been a conscience matter all along....the brothers who spent YEARS in prison had showed their loyalty to JEHOVAH! To Jehovah? Yes Jehovah.
It was HIS idea to let THEM think that you should be locked up in prison away from your stuggling wife with kids as HE didn't want to tell you how he REALLY felt about it until he has some examples of integrity under his belt.
You could have done Aternative service all along and your family would not have suffered but Jehovah decided to do it his way.
He has had us believe all kinds of stuff that we later learned was not true because he likes to see us progress.

I didn't have to go to prison, although young dub men just one to two years older than me all did two hard years in prison. I was however, convicted of a FEDERAL felony and had to do 2 years of the SAME freaking alternative military service I could have done had my dipshit religion allowed me to freely take it without being convicted first.

My braindead dub mother actually told me about a year ago that Jehovah made me go through what I went through because he was "testing" me. I said to her, "You mean Jehovah directed his chosen earthly organization to make a false interpretation of God's very own scriptures to test me? What kind of an idiotic God is THAT?"
She said, "You don't understand Jehovah's ways."
I replied, "Thank Jehovah I don't understand Jehovah's ways. I would probably be insane if I did."

One of my best friends who wanted to Do Alternative Service insted of prison fought with the elder body along with his parents. he and his parents saw nothing wrong and so he decided to work in a hospital.
He was disfellowshipped and cut off from all family and friend for years. He was finally re-instated and to this day is a loyal dub.
That same article I am speaking of in 94-95 said" how the apostates would love to see trouble come from this new understanding yet what has happened?! Not ONE of Jehovahs people have left over this".( something to this effect)
I would like to ask all those who were released from prison after this new understanding how they felt about this New Light and see if no one was bothered.

One of the dubs I knew who went to prison was a pioneer for years and years afterwards. In fact, he married a girl I used to date in high school. He was DFd for exposing himself to young girls.
Of the several dubs I've been able to find out about who were in that alternative military service boat with me, all have either been disfellowshipped or quit the WT religion.
The pharisees who made all that shit up are still in, though. Therein lies the REAL problem. WE were the victims. THEY were the perpetrators, and THEY are still worshipped by their followers, even as they droll all over themselves and soil their diapers. Sickening, isn't it?
