Atlantis has just posted a BOE letter regarding the memorial next year. There is to be a special meeting held just before the memorial, around the 1st April.

The change isn't related to d2d. See the August 1 2012 BOE letter posted by Atlantis. The letter dictates aux pio hours and how to work territory in March 2013.

Then why is the elders meeting being held in order for them to learn how to help the rank and file with significant changes?

Did I miss something? That was just the standard instructions for the "special talk", the public talk given shortly after the memorial to invite new ones who came to the memorial.

Sorry that was my mistake. I didn't realize they normally hold a special meeting after the memorial and I also thought the memorial was held in April. It seems the memorial will be held at the end of March in 2013.

That letter pretty much puts a nail in the coffin of the "stopping D2D" speculation.
I'm sticking with a huge push to reduce public magazine distribution, and only using tracts starting in 2013.

Two scenarios, at each extreme of what I'd hope for...
On the positive side (from my POV):
I would like to see a radical change like what took place with the Church
of God Armstrong becoming Grace Communion International.
Becoming more "Christian" and mainstream and leaving behind quirky
Rutherford & Freddy Franz theological gaffes would be nice.
On the other hand:
What I think we may see is a cracking down on expressing dissention, and too,
perhaps a confirmation of the often rumored changes with the way CO's and DO's operate.
The goal being to put more of the legal accountability on the local congregations
and BOE's while demanding more loyalty to their "Mother" Organization.
As always using obfuscation telling the R&F through elders that the changes
would be to simplify and better follow the scriptural pattern with the hope of
hiding the real trigger for the changes being the big hit of the abuser Kendrick trial.
(Like with the donation/contribution change brought on by the Swaggart case).

I must respect the recent BOE letter evidence presented. However, keep in mind just how this stuff 'turns on a dime'. CO's were trashing the internet right up to the Society's letter praising internet witnessing.
Also, they printed a glossy brochure telling young people to consider Bethel Service while they began the process of getting rid of staff.
They can talk about working territory all they want but how do they do that if they keep limiting mags and literature? or other limitations such as 'it's all on you and we'll abandon you if we get sued 'cause we said you don't represent us'?
Trim and trim...... and then what's left?

hello-- wasblind , have a happy weekend
Maybe they will dun the KH and let the elders strong arm the money out of the flock- make it 5% and call it anything but a tithe- and besides- by canceling the bookstudy meeting - they have all that extra gasoline money left over at the end of the month- it belongs to Jehoover's earthly organization.
