Does God's foreknowledge take away from free will?

sounds complicated....I think I'll stick with not knowing much.

I was just hoping you (you being one of the believers on this forum but could have been answered by any other believer, fine by me) could answer how you KNOW the difference between what you THINK you know and what you do know when it comes to invisible entities.

Guess you can't explain that for me. Other than...you just KNOW.

But then, you claim to also KNOW what your son will do in advance...and I don't believe that anyone can really KNOW what another human being WILL do. We can easily be wrong.

I asked for an example...you haven't given me one. So I'll have to assume you don't have one.

I did explain the difference. One I am told or shown... the other I think based on what I do know.

    Example:

I know it is true that Christ is alive and speaks... because He has shown me.

I know God did not kill Adam and Eve... because Christ told me this, and showed me more clearly what happened. Before I KNEW this, I still thought it... based on what is written, and based on love, and based on the Image that Christ provides us of God. Christ later confirmed it for me, and so I KNEW.

    Better?

    Peace,

So, if God KNOWS (by know, I mean Tec's vague definition, not seeing the future, but a certain guess), is there any possibility at all that God could EVER guess wrong? That someone could choose AGAINST what God thinks will happen?

If I put a bowl of vegetables and a bowl of ice cream in front of my child, I know which one they are going to choose. My knowing that does not prevent them the free will of making the choice. . . . CA

Yes but it's you who gave them that choice knowing the likely outcome . . . so the responsibilty for the decision is more with you than the child. And therein lies the whole fallacy of the free-will argument. If you had said "You have to choose vegetables, or the outcome will be bad for you" . . . are you not taking away that "free-will?"

Tec: Maybe becasue the other side is based on an assumption about God that I do not hold.

I really don't see any point in you joining in a discussion/debate.

All you really have to say is "God is the wonderful Spirit I made Him into in my mind. Absolutely no evidence, no matter how valid, can help me to grow."

    Firstly....WOW! that's some statement.

    Secondly....How did he show you?

Christ later confirmed it for me, and so I KNEW....tec

    How did he 'confirm' it?

    Better?

No..you haven't explained anything...you have just made statements.

Please explain your statements...if you don't mind...

Maybe he doesn't make guesses the he doesn't know the outcome for?

For instance, maybe he never guesses that someone will NOT come to Him. Because they COULD do so at any given time. Which would explain why the 'angels rejoice' when someone turns TO Him. Because that outcome is not set in stone, but it is a good thing when it does happen.

(and these are things that I am thinking about, not that I know for certain)
