FYI thanks for taking the time to post this --- been awhile since I've bothered to read/review Jesus' words but remembered words a man is worthy with respect to ministers.

Jesus and his apostles didn't comment on jobs, they commented on sharing the word. You know that. You're just behaving like a troll.
OK. It's clear you are just going to refuse to address the question and answer something different and pretend they are the same while calling names. There is no point in talking to you. Posting page after page of apologist drivel that want their damn paycheck trying to justify doing EXACTLY the opposite of what Jesus said to do is not answering the question. Pointless to have a discussion with you if you are incapable of having a discussion.
Youre like the little kid who was going to go to bed, but hung out just around the corner, cuz he wanted to see what the adults were doing.
Ah, now you're getting it! A few more tries you might actually get there.
This is a thread on religion which EP thinks is BS anyway. In fact, God, Jesus, the Bible is all BS to him. He just delights in trolling. If you show him the verses, it wouldn't matter to him. Why entertain him? Leave the insecure guy alone.
Man, being religious and going to church sure does turn people nasty. Either that or they simply use a message of love to justify their nastiness. You and FHN are great examples of that.

That's the best thing that could possibly be done with them.

Just in your view, EP.
The only person we each can speak for is our own self, unless otherwise appointed.

Reminds me of a public talk I gave once where I commented that a church in Lincolnshire was now used as a junk shop. I quipped: ''How appropriate.''
The audience laughed and it was a smug self agrandising laugh.
I feel ashamed of that comment. I was being a judgmental twot.
If ravens found a church good for him I say. Personally I'd sooner not bother with religion.
As Crowley said: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

This week my church is hosting a clothing giveaway.
Before the 1940's the churches were the premier charitable organizations. They gave it away to big government, I am assuming, in the flush of post-war enthusiasm. Back then it was believed that with verve, energy and big organization, great things could be done. Then the sixties happened. Many of "the projects" built in the 1950's have since been torn down. It turns out you just can't wipe out a community, warehouse the poor, and be done with it. People are more than cogs in a wheel. Communities matter.
Not to say that church or privately run charitable organizations were without their problems.
Good churches are more than once a week preaching machines.

Yes, they are.
Fault can always be found with individuals, whether people or groups. But the fact remains that, unlike JW's whose charity extends to their own (even though they would no doubt argue that they are doing good to others by preaching the "Kingdom" to them ) many other Christian bodies do a great deal to help ordinary people.
Economic times are hard. Where I live, all the churches in the town combine to stock and man a Food Bank for those who are poor and in need, which these days is a lot of people who have never before found themselves unable to buy the food they and their children need.
Can't be bad.

I go to church when I have a rare Sunday off. I'm a universalist, rather than Christian. Like Jgnat, I go for the community and I like the rituals and ceremony I was raised with. I like the spirit of encouragement. I like that it moves people to want to improve. The Episcopal Church is very gentle and respects that people are on their own journeys and have their own consciences.
I thank God, and my wise parents, that I was not raised as a JW. I don't view the Bible as written by God. And EP, just because a person attends church, it doesn't mean that person will lay down and be a doormat for people like you who come around with taunts and purposefully try to pick a fight. That's what you've done here on this thread. You start by being sarcastic with the OP about how many churches you can see/find from your window. Surely you're not suprised that we have stood up to you and called you on what you're doing. We answered your questions. You still come back, pretending you don't get it and continue to pick.
You find it nasty when people stand up against your trolling? I don't think so. You're just unhappy because you thought your brilliant, original, never thought of before, never discussed before question, had a sensible, historical and even scriptural answer.
I understand that you've been hurt. Most of us have been hurt by the WTBTS. I understand that it's your pain speaking.

fhn: everyone has differnt reasons for going to church and picking what church they will attend, for me most i would never go to (mainly doctrine) , for others doctrine is not whats important,
