That's what is so hilarious about all of this, there were no 2 sister's complaining about my book because it had just come out. The 'car group' that my daughter was in where this supposed complaining was done. Was in Sept of 2002, my book didn't come out until Mar 2003. Then it took him 'Awhile to even find it' because it wasn't available back then.
NEW video on Youtube MUST SEE! the elder's meeting is ridiculous!

If you noticed, the P.O [COBE] wasn't too happy that Hubby brought up the Viagra tie that he wore and the Viagra jokes he would tell to the brothers
The elder was afraid of some "stiff" competition and it made him uncomfortable. He found himself between a rock and a "hard" place. What a "dick". Literature bothers him- he doesn't like "Longfellow".
The counsel on entertainment is, if you are offended walk away. end of story. These guys took notes. lol
Exactly ! The elder's comment, "well, the damage is done, the book is out now". What? A JW can't put the book down and quit reading it if they're offended?

this whole video is of course insane, and a new level of crazy. whats next, i mean seriously, the next logical step is that they are going to start holding JW's responsible for the sins of the fictional characters in their entertainment.
but where this video becomes even more insane is at the 50:08 mark where not only is this couple being held responsible and likely going to be DF'd for the sins of fictional characters that DO NOT FRIGGIN EXIST, but they will also be held accountable for fictional sins that the one elder made up because he didnt understand or cant read to well what was going on.
so not only are they being held responsible for FICTIONAL SINS, BUT MADE UP FICTIONAL SINS. Do you get that? Made up fictional sins! LOLOLOLOL!!
my head is spinning!!! ROFL!!
now, as funny as this is, this is actually not funny at all, because these sick and twisted evil men are likely going to cause a tremendous ammount of suffering with the disipline they hand down.
these people must be stopped and hopefully more people record their meetings and expose just how insane this all is.
nothing suprises me about elders, but this is a new height of crazy that i could not of come up with in my wildess dreams. WOW

What makes me smile about these type of visits is the real lack of imagination on the part of the elders. They spend the time trying counsel the sister on fictional events as if she could only write about a relationship between two people if the conduct was as two Witnesses would be expected to maintain.
If they really felt the need to shepherd the sister then the more logical tack is to talk about how some may find the content unacceptable and the risk of stumbling. They should also never have avoided the Matt 18 issue. It's got to be easiest thing in the world to suggest to someone that they go and speak to someone they are complaining about. At least then they could have said they were sending any who felt offended to go and speak to the sister directly whilst also being able to say to any complainers that the matter has been handled. It helps quash the rumours, stops elders wasting their time and reduces bad feeling.
At the end of the day, if the book was out there then it's never going to be pulled off the shelves. The elders must know there is no real JC action so what's the point of coming out with lines about what is acceptable or unacceptable. My guess is that the sum total of 0 people would, if advised by the elders, actually go and apply Matt 18 even if the elders then said that if they didn't they would not be giving the "offender" the opportunity to apply Matt 5.
I've seen it time and time again where lack of thought and knee jerk reactions mean elders end up looking stupid and waste endless amounts of time. The elders could save themselves so much hassle if they just told people to apply Matt 18.

I would suspect that any literary work of fiction produced by a JW publisher could be scrutinized and attacked by any elder body. What if the story contained issues like fraud, extortion, violence, child abuse, drug use, suggestive flirtation, magic, divination, the supernatural, etc. etc.
Why the hang up for these elders on sexual themes and language? JWs are so sexually repressed the elders must feel compelled when they see something that is tapping into pushing the barriers on the theme.
What is ironic, something they tried to quash is now blazing the internet and bringing more attention to the issue AMONGST them and their absurdities.

"What are you going to do when the contract expires?"
That's one of the dumbest question asked by them.
Authors also get paid for their work through book sales, numbnuts. If there is an interest and the book is selling, what do you think I am going to do?
Or....were you suggesting that you pay my mortgage of I give up the book.
Also, one can find unacceptable (to them) sexual connotations in just about any physical act. For example, you brother windwasher elder, when you hold the handle of that squeegee all tight and work it around, it almost looks like you are tugging on a male private part. Oh, I am so offended! What adjustments are you going to make?
Morons.

You just described most Biblical stories- which JWs are supposed to read and respect as life lessons.
But, if a JW writes about similar events, even fictionally, it suddenly becomes "sinful" and a stumbling point for others.

A very good video, but once the Elders find out, it may get censored. I appreciated the counter arguments from the brother and sister.
This shows just how judgmental the cong can be. The elders, although sincere, needed this humbling experience of talking to someone that were intelligent. I did appreciate the comment of one Elder who stated that some new matters were brought to his attention that he didn't think of before. He was showing concern for the family at the end. It was a good Awake magazine that was the Ace that the couple had up their sleeve.
Thanks for posting this
