JOSEPHUS BAR MATHIAS (JOSEPH SON OF MATTHEW)
From "The Life of Josephus", section 75:
"... as I [Joseph bAR MATTHIAs] came back, I saw many captives crucified; and remembered three of them as my former acquaintance. I was very sorry at this in my mind, and went with tears in my eyes to Titus, and told him of them; so he immediately commanded them to be taken down, and to have the greatest care taken of them, in order to their recovery; yet two of them died under the physician’s hands, while the third recovered."
Mark 15:42-46:
"When evening had come, and since it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, {43} Joseph of ARIMATHEA , a respected member of the council, who was also himself waiting expectantly for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. {44} Then Pilate wondered if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead for some time. {45} When he learned from the centurion that he was dead, he granted the body to Joseph. {46} Then Joseph bought a linen cloth, and taking down the body, wrapped it in the linen cloth, and laid it in a tomb that had been hewn out of the rock. He then rolled a stone against the door of the tomb."

It is because JW's NEVER had Jesus as their center anyway. Jesus was sort of a guy who provided an umbrella insurance policy so that members could get on with the business of working their own righteousness and salvation. This is anti-christ and an insult to God - to try to work for something that he has provided as a gift. The JW life isn't about Jesus, it is all about vanity.
When JW's leave they are already pre-disposed to being Anti-Christian not only because of their lack of experience with Jesus personally, they have also led a life of condemming All Christians in general, seeing them as liars and hypocrits - this is what we were programmed to do.
Many are still running that WT program.

Perry made a very important point about the role of Jesus in the minds of JWs. I think it very telling that the WTS proclaims the coming of "Jehovah's Kingdom" rather than the "Messianic Kingdom". This in spite of the fact that the Christian Scriptures' proclaim the "Kingdom of the Son of God's love", which according to Paul reigns before "Jehovah's Kingdom" (i.e taking effect after the Son hands back the kingdom to his Father).

Perry- Not true, many JWs had a great feeling for Jesus and when we left the Wt. we joined others in Bible study and fellowship, partook of the bead and wine. It was continued study into the OT and NT and science that convinced us the Bible was a product of human effort.
cassuk11- What was your relationship with the Witnesses. You believe prophecies were fulfilled in 70CE other christians say no the End Times are ahead, it is the same old 50 ideas on one verse, why should you be believed over another's interpretation. So what do you think happens when people reject your Jesus.

To be more clear I believe Jesus must have existed to start up his Jesus cult...there were many messiahs back then and he was the best...I dont believe he did miricles or raised the dead...its easy to write these miricles in later...take the book of Mormon or Koran as an example of how the new testament was written. Write...have some "eye witnesses" ...start a religion.

And my continued study into the OT and NT and science convinced me that a biblical world-view is more plausible than a secular one.
However, there is no substitute for God speaking the knowledge of himself directly into your spirit. It is a KNOWING that the bible promises when a person makes a life exchange with Jesus.
I have experienced this ... as has EVERY born again Christian. You can KNOW.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 Jn 5:13

Perry, you cannot KNOW. It is based on faith. Non Christians describe the same "born again" feelings, as do people on LSD.

JW, read my scriptural reference I added. You can know my friend. I've experienced it personally. And nothing can ever take that away.
My faith rests on the KNOWING, not the other way around as you suggest. I would tell you if it was something different.

Perry- You and cassuk11 have come to different conclusions on the Bible, see the problem with the - 'trust me and my vision'. cassuk11 says trust no man (apparently that excludes himself and his conclusions based on his 100 videos), you and Stephen had different views and on it goes.
I would encourage any christian and anyone considering becoming a christian to study Judaism and then study how it is misrepresented in the NT. Next study astronomy and see the statements in Genesis fall into legend.

an educated person said to me yesterday that faith comes from having the spirit of God
