Its very silly to claim that anybody who doesnt believe now was never really a believer.

I used to believe in Santa.........I realy did! Now I don't. I don't miss something that never existed except in the imagination of man.

My journey to where I am today (agnostic) wasn't because I was trying to disprove the Bible. When I started my journey my intention, to have a stronger faith in Jesus and God. But a strange thing happen, the more I read the bible my faith became weaker and weaker until I had no faith at all. How did that happen, from praying to God to help me understand his word too a non-believer?? The Messiah turn his back on me, I went to him and he failed. I guess the mind he gave me became too critical thinking.

Don't know what your situation is, but I think a lot of people experience this because of the way they are introduced to Christianity. They are told 'God has a special plan for you' or 'Your life will improve if you try Jesus'; or let's get on a spiritual high with some hip worship music.

The reality is that God's plan for you will likely take years to unfold through the sanctification process. And, Jesus is not something you try on to see if it feels good. It's kinda like being handed a parachute while on an airplane and being told; "put this on, it will improve your flight". So, you reason why not. You put it on but it feels uncomfortable, and eventually you take it off and reason that the parachute was a failure.

However, you could be told, "the plane is going down in 5 minutes, put this parachute on". Suddenly, the parachute feels great and makes you feel secure. You check and recheck the buckles. That makes you feel even better.

Because of marketing techniques, many people are told that Jesus will improve their flight when in reality Jesus saves you from God's judgment after you die. God must judge. Jesus absorbs your guilty verdict and takes your punishment for you.

Matthew 25:41 'those on my left, Depart from me accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the Devil and his angels'. lovely god you have there Perry and uk11.

Even as the Jewish faith developed their ideas of an afterlife and punishment they always imagined any judgement to be temporary and all humanity would come to live in Gan Eden. But Jesus and John sure got wound up salivating over eternal punishment by fire.

God is eternal. His blessings are eternal. His punishment is eternal. We must deal with the God that is, not the one we imagine him to be. To do any other is to erect a false god, which is idolatry; and I might add a violation of the first commandment - thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Eternal punishment is just one of many false teachings from Jesus and his writing staff- Peter, John, Mark, and Paul. Scaring people for 2000 years, lovely. See once Paul tried to get away with his false teaching of Original Sin it opened the doors to all sorts Bronze Age myths used to hold people captive for thousands of years.

Perry: " I don't know your situation ". I Have never felt so free, I don't worry about afterlife. I'm not concern about every action on my part that may be displeasing to God, falling on my knees each night begging for forgiveness. I am a good person, I had live a good life. I figure if there is a God and my time comes to meet him, I don't think he will tell me to go to hell because in my hearth I didn't believe. I am not doing anything any different in my day to day life then any believer except praying to a mythical God.

"Jesus the Christ your saviour is a living breathing being with emotions."

You are kidding right. The evidence of a historical yeshua is as much as the evidence for King Arthur. Everyone can have an opinion, but you have to be ready to accept that it may be wrong and misguided and in need of correction. And that's not an opinion. That's a stone cold sexy fact. Unfortunately, too many people have beliefs that are rigid and not open to criticisms or challenge. People can't critically analyze and evaluate all available information, making decisions, including those involving their beliefs, based on thought, facts and reason. It's like trying to pee with a boner, they are difficult to manage and can be disastrous when forced or show another direction. No one likes to hear that the things they strongly believe are wrong, but it's a disservice to all of us if we can't be open to the idea that we are wrong, and open to learning something new or the real facts for that matter. Are you certain that your mythical, mystical deity is even real. Where is the evidence. Believe nothing because a wise man said it, Believe nothing because it is generally held. Believe nothing because it is written. Believe nothing because it is said to be divine. Believe nothing because someone else said it. But believe only what you yourself judge to be true. - Japanese Proverb.

I'm not concern about every action on my part that may be displeasing to God, falling on my knees each night begging for forgiveness.

This was one of the most dramatic differences I noticed when I started associating with Christians. In my ten years of going to a christian church, I think that I have only heard the asking of forgiveness one time. JW prayers are unique in constantly asking for forgiveness. Christians believe God when he says that we ARE forgiven and washed in the blood.

    I am a good person,

    Compared to whom?

Every told a lie? What does that make you? If I told you a lie, what would that make me?

Ever stolen anything, no matter how small? What does that make you? If I stole something from you, what would that make me?

The unique work of Jesus Christ on the cross makes it possible for God to express judgment and mercy. God must judge. His failure to do so would label him an enabler of sin. God could either make sin impossible or he can judge it. He has clearly chosen to judge sin. Complete freedom from judgment is available to all who trust Jesus. No begging required, instead God would proudly call you his son.

You can have your ego, or you can have God's pardon. But, you cannot have both.
