WelcomeChristian Guy!
Your right "losingit" Satan yet again has used a false religion to get people to leave Christ.
In the presence of Jehovah the king
Listen all the way through and be blessed
Beautiful. Too bad the JWs have made that name so unattractive to so many people.
Losingit, you are 100% correct! that's exactly what JWN is for! what it's not for is public posting of your beliefs and then refusing to discuss or debate those thoughts you've put down in writing here. This is the first thread I've ever seen here that the poster has publicly stacted that he is happy to posts his beliefs but won't discuss them with those he personally believes Christ is talking about ( not discussing sacred things etc)
personally I think threads like this should be booted from JWN.
I'm happy that a few picked up on the disgusting words used, describing members here as dogs, and quite surprised at many others responses, whether the reasoning is to your liking or not, describing people here who contribute to this community and support each other as dogs not deserving of hearing the message isn't the way to endear yourself to the community. It's my way or the highway shouldn't work here. I hope Simon reads this thread.
Loved the logic here! Awesome job. I'll borrow this sometime.
iCeltic, You are right. I should not have quoted Christ's words calling unbelievers "swine" and "dogs." I did so only for the purpose of explaining why I decided to no longer spend time arguing the existence of God with hardcore atheists. I said I did so because Christ advised his followers not to discuss sacred things with people who we know have no appreciation for sacred things. But in retrospect, I see now I should have simply followed Christ's advise without actually quoting his exact words, words which I should have known would most likely be offensive to some people here. Sometimes I speak without thinking and type without thinking. This was one of those times. I am sorry. I will be glad to remove those words from my offending post if you would like me to do so.
I know you also were right to object to my saying that I became a believer due to finding what I consider to be strong evidence that the God of the Bible created the universe, and then refusing to share that evidence with everyone here. I realize now those were also inappropriate comments for me to post on this board. If I did not want to share my thoughts with everyone here I should have saved my claims to possess such evidence for private conversations. Again I am sorry for my inappropriate comments.
However, I'm not sure how I can now correct this matter. For the evidence I refer to is quite voluminous and it would take me ages to post all of it here. Also much of it is of a highly technical nature, not easily understood by all. I believe the total weight of all of this evidence is quite convincing to anyone who is willing to believe. (There is of course never enough evidence to convince someone of something that they are not willing to believe.) But I also think that here posting only small parts of this evidence, which is all I would have time to do right now, would probably not be sufficient to convince anyone of anything. And posting such insufficient evidence would only serve to here make me an object of derision. So for now how about we let this whole thing rest, upon the condition that I promise to create and here post a brief synopsis of my alleged evidence for the existence of the Christian God sometime in the near future?
You're awesome.
oh boy, another self righteous christian taliban who thinks he's better than the JW.
o.k. at the risk of saying the wrong thing here , I agree that Christian Guys remarks in earlier posts were less than tactful , however he has appologised . So is it alright for someone to refer to a" Christian Taliban ". I find that offensive as a Christian . The TAliban are shooting girls for trying to get an education ,are blowing innocent people up and generally behaving violently and with hatred to those who oppose them . Being compared with them is extreme , and perhaps you could have thought a little before posting that J Hofer .
It does seem , and this has to be said that some atheists feel that they can be insulting to Christians and that is o.k. I have been called stupid and have had other personal comments leveled at me and I have read many other insulting posts aimed at Christians . Is it because as Christians we are supposed to turn the other cheek and so are seen as soft targets .
Do we get the brunt of people's anger towards the Watchtower because we believe in Yaweh ?
I know that this post will upset some people but no one seems to care about upsetting Christians , even Grace has been a target on occasion .
I just had to get this of my chest and try to get a sense of balance here .
