"The poor will always be with us" said our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The job of his disciples was to spread the news of God's Kingdom, and happy to say that has indeed become our trademark. There is much to be said for the scores of people that have accepted our gospel and their lives and economy has improved dramatically by taking responsibility for their actions and working as expected.

The abusers issue is of no consequence. There will always be abusers and predators among any one conglomerate. The Org just has to come to terms with implementing a new guidance to turn these people to the local authorities. That is coming. When it happens within a family that just happens to be JWs, well perhaps the religion factor is irrelevant. Predators/abusers are everywhere regardless.

Actually, for the number of existing JWs, the number of abuse cases is really minuscule. In our four generation JWship, I have never dealt with a case of pedophilia in any of the many Spanish congs I have served.

You all just need to learn to accentuate the positive of life in general. It makes for so much more happiness overall.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..."--James 1:27

What does the Watchtower or even the local Kingdom Hall do to look after orphans and widows?

Four generations would be about, say, 300 years? lol.

I am impressed by your record, however the elders serving in the Conti would have said roughly the same up untill the lawsuit, you know, no pedophelia, just the random loose allegation that does not stand up to the biblical standard of two witnesses.

Very comforting words GC, and kindly put:

I'm certain Jesus would approve of the delicate and compassionate way you offer such empathetic love.

The "test your faith" line was also used in the promo video for the Atlanta international convention. It was in regard to the convulated travel scheme, that had people going an hour of the way to get to the convention center, through designated public transportation routes. It seemed really odd, even non-sensical. Perhaps it was really a test run to see how compliant congregations would go to travel out of their way to a meeting?

If there really is news, my guess is that US congregations will be merged, which may involve increased travel time/costs.
