avengers, I too am aware of that quote, having seen it in a photocopy (digitized of course) of a convention brochure. I saw it on a web site some time ago, but I've forgotten where. So, yes if Russell said he was a Free and Accepted Mason, then obviously he was, unless:
* He is lying, or
* the document from which the photocopy was made is a forgery, or
* the person writing the document inserted the phrase, but Russell never said it, or
* Russell was speaking figuratively, which is possible in the context of the talk.
Even if he wasn't a Mason, from his comments it is clear he had friends who were. -

Well then perhaps you'd better keep sticking around......you might learn something in about a month.
You're such a sad, angry person. Try Pilates.

For anyone who's interested in this subject, here's a link to an article which includes an number of photographs of CTR's grave and the surrounding area. I'll warn you that the English version here has obviously been translated by someone not very fluent with our language, but it is worth reading nonetheless. http://pages.globetrotter.net/mleblank/occulte/wtfm.html

Was Russell a Freemason? No, he does not admit to being a Freemason. Although he did apply that term to himself, it certainly was not in the sense that some have inferred here. His meaning is quite clear; he believed himself to be a spiritual Freemason, not a member of the fraternal order. Having said that, he was, however, quite amicable to Freemasonry.
Anyone interested on finding out Russell's views on the topic should consult:
Scroll down to C.T. Russell's View of Masonry and Symbolism
Read thoroughly page 3.

It does seem in this quote that Russell is just trying to relate to the Freemasons. As when JFK said "Ich bin ein Berliner".

Work it out from this: the word SEVENTH can be found in the term Jehovahs Witness? Coincidence? Or pure chance? You tell me. Conspiracy theorists gather round!

avengers... You know very well that you took that quote from a public talk that Russell gave at an assembly and deliberately twist it to suite what you want. Most folks that know Russells past know better. And you know it.
What puzzles me is Why do YOU want Russell to be a Free Mason SO MUCH? Why are you so obsessed with it? I can understand somebody reading an article written by an opinion and believing it for a while, we should ALL be able to understand that. But YOU KNOW where that came from and you still want to jump in and say YES Russell Was a Freemason! WHY?
not that it even matters, Just curious
