we celebrate diversity - in every true sense - not just when we have an international convention and make everyone dress up in national costume (what IS that all about ? seems very nationalistic and worldly to me) ... um, does this qualify as fluff ?

I'm sensing an apostate attitude by many towards this forum. "Fluff" "No Fluff" buttons? What next, forum judicial committees? Net elders? Door to door apostate work? STOP THIS MADNESS!!!!!

Well I think if someone would just give Farkel a good fluffing, he'd never complain again.

If I were interested in something really serious, I'd go remarry my first wife. That would drag the smile off my face.

Now off to see if I can locate Princess's house and see if they are all into fluff or seriousness.

    we celebrate diversity

Thanks alli..the short and sweet version.

one..I know exactly where I stand on the matter..There is nothing wrong w/the board and Simon has made significant improvements, which everyone should be happy with. So people can shut off posts from people they don't like or think have no valid point? Not everything that gets posted is scholarly or serious, but niether is everything you talk about among friends. I don't want the ability to become of the "uppity" class...I left that bullshit a long time ago. I also caught your vieled insult my friend...Try thinking a little hard next time yourself.

    Sincerely,

    District Overbeer

    HS,

At least when i go to the "active" magazine stand or store the latest issue of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC is clearlly visible. It not hidding behind a comic 'fluff" magazine.

So everyone is happy, EASILY finding what THEY want... comic/National geographic, fluff/serious discussion.

    up to Simon...

Ok, like who gives a crap , but here is my fluffy opinion:

I agree with Valis, again. This board serves alot of purposes. Can we just please leave it the hell alone?????????????

I would hate for poor Simon to just get fed up with all of this and shut the whole board down. I dont think he will, but it scares me to think it could happen. This place has been so much fun for me, not to mention great for the healing process leaving the borg.

I like the way the board is set up, Simon has done a wonderful job. He has made catagories we can go into , if we only want to read about those things. We are not forced to go into the active topics and other general topics if we choose not to. This is called freedom. I dont think there needs to be more rooms, more bottons or whatever. Just dont read what you think might be fluff, and you pretty much can tell,,,,,,,,,, I mean I posted one of fluff a few hours ago, on are you an animal lover? The title in itself waves the fluff flag.

I have personally woke up in the morning feeling depressed and read some terrible experience about someone's life as a JW , and felt really bad for them . Then I move on to another "fluff" thread, if that is what you want to call it, and it brightened my outlook for the day. The less serious topics may not be earth shattering insightful knowledge of the universe, but it helps us to get to know one another.

Like it was said before, when you truly are sitting around a group of friends over dinner, the subject matter changes from the serious such as business, all the way down to dog farts.......... this is reality. Well at least it is that way at our house and with our friends.

BTW , i had to laugh at what LB said........... that was good comic relief at it's finest!!

When i turn the radio or tv for the LATEST news, I dont want to hear a mix of sport/weather/and new.

When i read the businees section on the newspaper, i dont want to see a comic or movie review or something of that nature.

AND if the paper has a section for the very latest news, that is what i expect to read, not a joke or a book review, or fluff.

AND if the paper has a section for FLUFF i fully expect that.

I like both orange and apples but i keep them in separate bags.
