My grandmother used to say that getting a man/woman on the moon "will never work", would i argue with her?

She was not scientifc nor knowledgeable about database...

Yet another implied insult...I hope I'm wrong, but I think you are calling Lyin ignorant like your granny...I could be wrong, but I doubt it. You start in w/even more features to record your preferences and Simon takes a hit on bandwidth and server space...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out...

BTW one, no one ever promised you a rose garden here...love it or leave it chief. Notice the topice Friends has the connotation for friendly talk and discussion? Don't use the Active link, but browse through the different topics, JUST LIKE YOU READ THE NEWSPAPER, and call it good or get bent!

    Sincerely,

When i turn the radio or tv for the LATEST news, I dont want to hear a mix of sport/weather/and new.

Huh? That's exactly what you'd hear. C'mon man, stop playing. News is news, whether it's related to sports, politics, weather whatever.

This thread illustrates (again) that the problem with the board isn't who posts or what they post but whether we, the viewer/reader, have enough self-control to not click on certain threads.

After a person commences to post here, it soon becomes clear what type of poster they are. Why would anyone then read said poster or post type and then complain about what they can't seem to keep themselves from reading?

The solution to the problem has been and will continue to be simple: If you don't like fluff, don't read it. Else, buy a ruler and hire somebody to slap your hand with it to keep you from clicking on fluffy threads.

If someone isn't contributing thought-provoking threads, they have no right to complain about what they see as the frivolous state of the board. None of us have to come here or stay when we do. There are kazillions of places on the net.

Then, after one tires of net surfing, there *is* that thing called "life."

    Folks,

Don't get yourselves too riled up about this thread. This is just one of Farkel's many "this board isn't intellectual enough for me" type threads. Go through his history, and you will see what I mean. He thinks that the "fluff" threads de-value the worth of this board. And that we should all be posting essays instead of personal experiences and "fluff".

So, don't worry too much. Farkel will post another thread just like this in a couple of months.

    Just wait and see

LB, Why did it not surprise me that you were the very first to mention that other definition of "fluffing". You are so funny, what would we do without you!

Teejay, I agree with you on this. If you dont like whats on, change the channel.

There are days when I just dont feel like clicking on another one of "You knows" threads so I go on to the next. Everyone should have a right to post here as long as they arent being abusive. Someones "fluff" may actually help someone else. For example, on my "ultra fluffy" baby pic thread, someone actually outed themselves by posting their picture for the first time. I understand the need to remain anonymous and would never condemn anyone for doing so. I know this is a VERY big step for many people as it was a huge one for me. I also happen to know that some of the "fluffy bashers" have yet to be as brave.

LOL, more fluff what the heck

What can i say...I have been here longer that the later repliers (sp?) with few complaints, read my initial posts for a litle contradiction.

I make suggestions. Obviously some suggestion have been accepted, implemented.

If i dont use the ACTIVE as 'some' suggest it will take an eternty browsing the site to get the latest on NONFLUF topics. As simple as that.

It is HARDER for the focused visitor or poster to stay current on SERIOUS topics. Therefore limiting his participation on the board.

Why request to the WT to change its rules, because of Silentlambs? Heck the rest is doing fine...

Why do they still make amendments to the Constitutions?

...also 13 states and now 50, why not just keep 13 and force the others to join, without a new name? giving them privileges to do local legislation etc.

The only sure thing i;n modern sociaty is change,

How about this board running over the UPS or USPS? those systme have have been working fine for centuries...

Do we want to emulate the GB, if it works dont fix it...mentality

    BIGBOI/ONE

We have similiar handle name (wichi created a big misundertanding on my first post, read it) but no similar opinion about what a "MIX" is, at least not on the context i mentioned the word.. The word secuence is not what i had in mind, I could turn off the radio when the SEQUENCE start the sports SECTION or the fluff, but never mind...

I know for sure you dont need me to elaborate

    Just for fun.

    Prisca,

: So, don't worry too much. Farkel will post another thread just like this in a couple of months.

Unfortunately for you, my dear lady, not much of what you've said will ever be remembered and will disapppear from the vacuity from which it emerged. Your words are eminetly forgetable. Too bad for you. If only you had tried a little harder.....

    Farkel,

I don't care whether what I've said will be remembered or not. I can't remember what I said a few days ago, so why should I expect anyone else to?

Sorry mate, but I don't have such illusions of grandeur that you evidently do. Nor am I as self-important as you are. I don't aspire to being some famous apostate. I just like being me. Maybe you should learn to like yourself for a change?
