If were going to talk about who did what in WW2, lets remember that WW2 started for the UK in 1939 when we stood alone against Germany, and the nation that contributed most in coming most to our assistance then was CANADA.
Englishman.
I am not sure what the disagreement between Simon and Thi Chi was about. Before we entered the war, the US did send food and war materials to the UK and we did loose a lot of ships and merchant marines. As I said, I am not sure who is saying what on this point. Englishman, et. al., I don't think it is possible for any one country or event to say that it was the cause of the war's outcome. There were many contributing factors. A few that come to mind are: 1. The UK code breakers. 2. The US's massive manufacturing capabilities. 3. The sabatoge of Germany's heavy water facility in Norway. 4. Hitler's blunder of attacking Russia. I am sure there are many, many more important factors. There was some luck involved as well. An example, is our boarding a German submarine and obtaining their encoding machine before the sub sank. This allowed us to decode German messages for months without the German's knowing it. This stroke of luck allowed us to severely cripple the German submarine force.
In a way, I'm kind of glad I missed this thread. I work for a huge US company but in the UK and I have far too much to say on this subject. Some of it is better left unsaid, but I do plan on visiting your country soon to find out for myself.
Hey, I may be an American but I do not carry a gun. I am afraid of guns. Not because I think I would eventually use it, but beacuse I hve children in my house and would not want them to get their hands on it. Kids do crazy things.
I like people from all over the globe. There are good and bad in all countries so don't judge America by a few a**holes. Most Americans are good people, I think it's the polititians that give us a bad name.
OK, I got your curiosity going. I am not impressed with your leaders attitude to pollution, I don't agree that anyone should be able to carry leathal weapons. I also dont believe in domination by the richest, something that seems to be happening in your courts as copied from your government.

Yes, I'm proud to be an American. But I don't think we should snub our noses at the rest of the world either. America is not an island unto itself.
Well, I am a citzen of the US government. I was born here, raised here, but... it does not mean i AGREE with my government. So me wonders what state Ballistic will grace his presence with.
I don't want to hold back from telling what is "perceived" from my perspective. I think any stigma I have is related to US way of thinking that the UK part of their company is simply a branch of theirs, rather than us making them shed loads of cash as we are at the moment.
I'm not a real politcal person, but I don't care where a person if from. There is good people in the states and idiots to...same for here. From what I've seen there is a lot of nice americans here.I have other internet friends from the states, and they are nice people.I'm not going to judge people in a country because of politics.
Thats my thought
Take care,EH!
