I just think that this is all causing irreparable harm to all our causes. It makes us look stupid, because it is stupid.

As JT brought out, and the WTBTS's lawyers are reading all these Bowen said/Franz said threads and laughing.........because some of us are beginning to doubt or dismiss the raping of children as "no more serious" as other religions' rapings. Takes the heat off them, now doesn't it.

If nothing else, all this umbrage has helped solidify my standing on the subject of these two men. I don't really care that much - they're *just* men. But it has also helped me see who I need to support MORE - SilentLambs because the WTBTS is covering up gross sexual crimes against children - and until they are taken to court again and again like the Catholic Church (who are no worse) - the WTBTS will continue to help abusers find & hurt more children.

Y'all can discuss Bowen & Franz's failings, or lack of them, for the next "500 years" if you want. But I bet it'd be interesting to see how many jw kids statistically will be raped during that time - even take just next week's molestation figures. Then multiple that by how many religions there are, then take into account all the non-religious rapists....and then realize - neither Bowen nor Franz are THAT important.

And we haven't even begun on the issue of child & wife beatings. So many JW crimes to speak about other than Bowen's opinions of Franz, and of course, our opinions on their opinions.

I've just received the lastest issue of Freeminds Journal. On the back page is an article entitled "The Pedophile at Your Door" by Mike Pence.

"The Department of Justice states that between one and five percent of the population are pedophiles. Congregatons of Jehovah's Witnesses typically number around one hundred members, sometimes more, sometimes less. Even rounding in their favor that could still amount to a pedophile per congregation, declaring their faith on the thresholds of our homes."

I'll retype it and put it on a new thread. I'm also assuming that all the indepth responses that have been posted on this issue of Franz/Bowen/SilentLambs will contribute thoughtful responses to this article as we're so interested in it? Btw, it's a widely agreed assumption that most pedophiles will never be discovered, nor will most victims of pedophiles who molest ever speak out.
