    Kenneson, the Jesus, Paul knew was a mystical saviour, not a literal person that had walked the earth a few years before him. You can tell that by the absence of Paul mentioning any of Jesus parables, miracles, illustrations.....which is the starting point for any evangelical these days.

    Paul didnt mention any of Jesus' parables? I really need to read the Bible again,,,,,,not with JW eyes that is for sure. I have started reading here and there , but can't keep my attention on it.

    I think keeping this point you are saying in mind will make me pay attention, to see if this is true,,,,,,,,not that I don't believe you, but I mean we should all read the scriptures ourselves to see it with our own eyes.

    Its very interesting, Lyin Eyes. I cant imagine a teacher like Paul being so silent of his Christ if the guy had said so much and did so much only a few years before him.

    When are people going to stop getting caught up on where other peoples heart and genitals go. Its over !!!

    Great statement, M0nk3y! Some of the coolest people I've known have been gay x-jw's. Talk about a struggle to overcome!

    However, in all fairness, if one suggests Jesus did ANYTHING w/ his weiner, other that pee out of it, yer gonna get flak. I imagine some folks would get offended even if you said JC even HAD a ding-a-ling. Well, a schlong, actually, he WAS jewish. What next, are the scholars gonna speculate on the size o' the thing?

    Actually thats another good point avishai ..

    if one suggests Jesus did ANYTHING w/ his weiner, other that pee out of it, yer gonna get flak.

    I would like to bring to peoples attention that nowhere that I'm aware of does it say that Jesus actually pee'd Could it be that the son of god didnt need to ? And how would you go about proving that he actually did .. pee. What colour was it if he did ? Does this also mean that he poo'pd ?

    Wow the amazing factual questioning and reasoning is simply ... Dull.

    ISP,
    It is obvious to me that Paul did not quote Jesus' parables because he first learned of Jesus on the road to Damascus after Jesus was resurrected. He was blind to who Jesus was before that and persecuted the Christians until Jesus literally blinded him and spoke to him. He had a different relationship and experience with Jesus than the apostles did. In other words....Jesus didn't speak in parables to Paul. He spoke in parables to the other apostles who lived with Him on earth.

    As far as Paul teaching that the Gov'.s are under the authority of God goes....that makes perfect sense when you consider that just before Jesus was taken away by the authorities, he said to them that they could do nothing that His Father had not wanted them to. His death was a good thing for those who believe in Him and it pleased God to do it, because thru his death...we have life. God works all things to good for those who trust Him. Your reasonings are unsound and simple to clear up just by reading the bible through like a book. It does say that rulers hold no terrors to those who do good....meaning not to break laws etc, or you will be punished. Paul also teaches that if you should suffer for doing good...Reading the NT from the beginning to end and not choosing out single passages is what gives the whole picture.

    The starting point for evangelicals is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Which is what Paul also taught. Paul taught that Jesus Christ was a literal person of flesh (Romans 1:3; 9:5) who was slain under a historical person Pilate (Acts 13:28; 1 Timothy 6:13) by crucifixion (1 Corinthians 2:2; 1 Corinthins 15:3) was buried (1 Corinthians 15:4) and was seen by historical persons such as Cephas, the twelve, and the five hundred brethren at once, the majority of whom were alive at the time of the writing of 1 Corinthians (1 Corinthians15:6). He taught that Jesus was literaly killed by the Jews as they had killed their literal prophets (1 Thessalonians 2:15).

    Romans Chapter 1

    1: Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
    2: (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
    3: Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

    Romans Chapter 9

    3: For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
    4: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
    5: Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

    Acts chapter 13 (Paul's sermon recorded by Church historian Luke).
    28: And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
    29: And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
    30: But God raised him from the dead:
    31: And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. 1 Timothy chapter 6
    13: I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

    1 Corinthians Chapter 2

    1: And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
    2: For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

    1 Corinthians Chapter 15

    1: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
    2: By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    4: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    5: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
    6: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
    7: After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
    8: And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

    1 Thessalonians Chapter 2

    14: For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
    15: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:

    Paul did quote the words of Jesus.

    Luke Chapter 22

    19: And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
    20: Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

    1 Corinthians Chapter 11

    23: For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
    24: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
    25: After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

    Some question Luke 22;19b-20 as being genuine, the following gives the greek manuscript evidence for it.

    "All the early MSS except D testify to the presence of Luke 22:19b-20 in the account of the Last Supper" Early Manuscripts & Modern Translations of the New Testament, 1990 edition p.99

    Luke 22:19-20 is found in P75, Aleph, A, B, C, L,T,W

    P75 is dated c.200 , thus Luke 22:19,20 is found in the oldest manuscript of this section of Luke as well as all other early manuscripts except D which is much later than P75.
