You have a LOT of folks here that love you and enjoy YOU, no matter whether you're writing something funny or something profound---we just look forward to whatever you surprise us with.......please don't feel discouraged, and deprive those of us who appreciate you---the chance to read more of your thoughts as long as your able to post them!

Well said. Farkel... you are needed. Your perspective on the Society goes back and is of great value here. The Brooklyn spies would just luvvvvvv to see you drop off of this board. Get some rest and come back. The board needs ya.

    Farkel,

I rarely post but I read here everyday.

I have a section in my favorite places on my browser that is entitled JWD discussions. Under that is one titled Farkel. There's a quite a list there and I refer to it when I am feeling down and need a boost. I have what I consider exceptional portions of your posts saved in my .doc file folder. There are quite a few files there. I have sent links to your posts to many people. Just recently, as you started threads again, I find myself checking everyday to see if there is anything new from you. Something about your style- you say it like it is and with the right touch of humor. I know I read your posts with a smile on my face and when you are challenged by a newbie, I know it's time to get the popcorn and sit back and watch the show.

I read your posts with a great deal of satisfaction that I have made the right choices in my life regarding this religion, and religion in general as far as that goes. I remember being disappointed when I came upon your website and it had christian leanings. When I discovered it was old information I felt so good.

I concur with Ranch, you have had a far greater effect that you can imagine. Seven's post is right on. Just remember that whatever direction you go you left a huge mark.

    to you all:

Nonsense! I don't believe I made a single bit of difference, at least in the long run. I waved my hands and yelled a lot, but I only helped a few souls out of that nonsense.

In short, I failed. My music is my only redemption in this life. I'm pretty good at that.

    Farkel"

farkel, you have to me. your posts made a huge difference to me and i have learned a LOT from you in the past 4 years. it is discouraging, i know. people who are out would rather talk about drugs and sex and that's not me, and not cause i'm still harboring jw values...it's just not me. i understand your frustration, i totally relate to it. why do you think i don't spend hours writing essays to post here anymore? i could. but i don't, because i know that it'll be gone in two minutes and no one will even see it. hugs, and thanks for all you personally have taught me. i still consider you the great jedi master. so many others who used to be at H20 too posted such...meaty stuff. it helped me cast off the bonds so much more quickly. not all gen x-ers are like you think...i'm gen x. hugs, essie

When I first came here, I was looking for info on the WTS. There was a handful of posters, Farkel included, that I came to realize knew their shit. I look forward to their posts on WTS policy, doctrine, dogma, etc.

Someone mentioned on this thread that the needs of the XJWs have changed. I think that is true. But I think that is a good thing. More people are leaving the ranks of the WTS. As time goes by, we start to live normal lives. We don't need to keep rehashing the same old things about the badness of the WTS. It's not healthy. Of course, as new ones show up, we need people around who can help them find the answers they seek and share experiences to show them they are not alone. We still need Farkel.

    Hey Farkel,

Believe me, I understand completely. Being married to an active JW like I am, my interest in these discussion boards pretty much revolves around what some here are calling "Phase I" also.

You've probably heard the old saying, "The simple lie overcomes the complex truth" many times. You and I both know that on many subjects, the JW faith capitalizes on this fact. Generally it takes about three paragraphs of explanation to untangle each line of bullshit. You have to weed out the irrelevancies, identify the real premisis behind the conclusion, and then explain both why the conclusion doesn't actually follow and how the false impression is given that it does.

Although there's a certain satisfaction in cleaning up this bullshit, it's a lot of work. Why take the trouble if people would much rather discuss their sexual secrets, American Idol and the color of their belly button lint? For me, the answer is simple: At this time and place it's probably not necessary.

Have you ever noticed that when some people exit from the JW's they accumulate large librarys? (Maybe not quite as large as Alan F's but still respectable.) Other people take the small handful of JW publications that they own and happily burn them. It reflects two very different ways the JW experience can be handled. Some people want a clinical understanding of the JW's. Other people never want to think of JW teachings again.

JW related disucssion boards seem to be populated with different proportions of these people. Although I personally enjoyed H2O it its heyday and I think you did too, JWD is different. Cleaning up JW bullshit is not for everyone and it's no surprise if many others want to get on with more interesting things. That can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Although JWD might attract more "fluffy" type posts, it's only fair to consider that the "serious" discussion groups attract far more crackpots, whackjobs, Bible-thumpers and self-appointed prophets. I'm sure YOU KNOW what I'm talking about.

JWD is composed of a terrific group of people with a huge cross-section of interests. There are dozens of partipants I can personally look forward to hearing from (and that includes you when you're here) without having to listen to too many clowns who are all suffering at an individual level from JW organization's main delusion. I'll take fluff over that anyday.

I hope you don't leave and if you do, I hope it's not permanent. Just think how much duller in would be for the WT monitors if you did.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Farkel:

Let's face it. There aint nothing wrong with you that a trip to Paris and a big kiss from French Baby Face wouldn't cure.

As a male I know that SEX and trolling for females is the BIG thing. All the other "big" things we try to do are just ways to dull the sensations coming from our gonads.

    Remember :

1 Samuel 18:6-9 And it came about that at their coming in, when David returned from striking the Phi·lis´tines down, the women began coming out from all the cities of Israel with song and dances to meet Saul the king, with tambourines, with rejoicing and with lutes. And the women that were celebrating kept responding and saying:

"Saul has struck down his thousands,

And David his tens of thousands."

And Saul began to be very angry, and this saying was bad from his viewpoint, so that he said: "They have given David tens of thousands, but to me they have given the thousands, and there is yet only the kingship to give him!" And Saul was continually looking suspiciously at David from that day forward.

The main reason males strive for position in the congregation is to get the accolades of the "sisters". The more service time a male puts in the more stage time is granted.

We are truly pathetic. And we know it. So whether it is posting here or playing the piano we do these things to some sympathetic ethereal female floating among the neurons of our brains.

The problem is how to disguise our real intentions and stay happy though unsatisfied. And we are rapidly outliving our very desires.

    Time for your greatest opus.

PS. To all you f--king contributors to lists of favorite posters. I NEVER make it to those lists. So I must be posting for my "balls" too.

Have none of you read a god-damned thing I'VE written. I thought I would try to make it to 1000 posts but screw it. You all prefer people who post AMEN!! 10,000 times.

I am out of here too.

    I'll close the door Farkel.

    1. A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form.

That definition can apply to both us and this board.
