This is one of the funniest threads Fark has put out in a long time! Rotflmao.....

Minimus, knock it off. I know you and farkel have had words before. Why continue it?

Yeah Minimus ....back off jack, you said your crap already. Your like a damn tick....sucking and sucking and sucking!
. I consider myself irrelevant and of not much use anymore. That is ok with me.
First of all Fark.......that's bullshit. Were it not for you and some others.......there would be no JW related discussions here. This place needs not only JW discussions, but interaction betwwen friends about whatever the hell they like to talk about. If this place had only JW topics....many would not be here because many cannot discuss it well enough ( in their eyes) to give a meaningful input.
How many times do you need to be mentioned on this board as a favorite of many?
I''ve told you myself that you personally had a BIG share in changing my spiritual outlook on things and I'm glad of it. You have helped countless of people......what more could you ask for my friend?

"You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore"
Many of the younger ones will not recall this statement of Richard Milhous Nixon in 1962 after losing the California governor's race. The words were primarily directed at the press, who Trickie Dickie felt had been biased against him.
Nixon recovered from his wounds and went on to become president in 1968.
The "Goodbye" thread, statement, gesture or speech is a staple of the feeling of rejection whether it involves the loss of a political race by a few hundred votes or the disappearance of a thread after a few meager replies. It is a lash back at those ignorant ones who failed to fully recognize the worth of the one saying "goodbye."
I have enjoyed Farkel's threads. My wife especially appreciated the recent one about the WTBS' pseudo-shepherding and she is not a JWD afficianado.
But I will not join the chorus humbly begging his return.
He is a man whose brilliance and warts are out there, fully documented by his posting history.

keep up the good thought, Farkel
As to Rachmaninoff; my favorite is the Piano Concerto #6... can you start a topic on that?

Yes, this place isn't like the old H2O....I used to read there sometimes but never posted, and I think I would have enjoyed the "research" atmosphere there more, but still....this place is very social, and I don't mind the more informal atmosphere -- plus there is still a lot of dynamite research and ongoing current analysis going on, whether by Blondie or AlanF, CityFan, or especially you.... I learned quite a few things from you, such as things I never knew about Beth Sarim....
I would like to see more research here, maybe things are cyclic and we'll see more college-educated former JWs here in the not-to-distant future..... -

Damn, Dave (Seven),
I miss your analysis of things and wonderful way of writing. But you are in stag 10 and there seems to be some unwritten rule that stag tens cannot return to stages 2 thru 9 without becoming totally disoriented suffering from temporary Turret's disease. Good to have you back now and then.
Farkel,
to you all:
Nonsense! I don't believe I made a single bit of difference, at least in the long run. I waved my hands and yelled a lot, but I only helped a few souls out of that nonsense.
In short, I failed. My music is my only redemption in this life. I'm pretty good at that.
Man, You just need a kick in the butt. A dozen people say you helped them and you just wave them off cussing like an ugly sailor. Why not relax and share some fluff with your friends.

Bullshit, Doug. 7-8 years ago on H2O and in email you helped me quite a bit. Maybe you've forgotten and need a little time to reflect?
Edited to add, same to proplog.

Damn Steve,
I have always taken the words of a much older phase sailor as yourself to heart. I hate to brake it to you but, the Turrets is not temporary. I use 'colorful" language the way a Cajun chef uses cianne pepper. It helps people remember something that without it, may have gone unnoticed and pops into memory long after the meal is digested.
Us phase ten'rs are just constantly searching for ways to experiment with various forms of communication. At least I didn't say fuck again. I learned my lesson with that bad boy word. I even edited myself twice for using it and limited my new post per day down to 50 for two whole weeks.
I'm going to go bow my head in shame now and go sit in the corner with my TV remote and a nice glass of grape Kool Aid on the rocks.
Make sure you let me know when you and the mean old little woman come to visit the god dammed great northwest.
Dave
PS: Min, as Avi and Gum said, knock it off!

Smoldering Wick
When you are a big fish in a small pond, it is hard to adjust as the pond grows bigger. It?s like a child star who grows up and loses his/her appeal to the public. Instead of evolving and adapting to the change, they give up and hide from the public.
Every person on this board is relevant...from the constant fluffers or thought provokers to the lurkers who occasionally post. We all have different reasons for visiting or becoming a part of this family.
Intellectualism and/or "blather" (these are interchangeable to me) can only go so far. Each serves a purpose. If this board were only "blather" or only intellectual banter...then it would lose its wonderful appeal.
If it is attention you crave, then you can threaten to take your toys and leave...or you can evolve, adapt, and share the limelight.
