wish people a "happy easter" voluntarily and not just mumble "same to you" when they wish it to you?
i do, and every time i do i get a little thrill and smile to myself because it's just one more thing i now have the freedom to do, and it's a little thing but i think it shows care and respect for my fellow humans.
I'm still learning all the holiday traditions, with help from my boyfriend. Of course, he's of Danish/German stock, with emphasis on the Danish; therefore his holiday traditions are a little different from other folk's in my area, who are French, but it's ok.
We had fun decorating for Christmas, and I'm excited about the 4th of July celebration we're planning. I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies without worrying about the magic and "demonism". Oh, and the best part, I get to vote, yippee! So I now have the power to fire that incompetant guy that's been working for us these past 3 1/2 years.
There is so much in our lives to be thankful for!
my daughter has been dating a non-baptized jw boy, 18, we will call him "casey"; she is 17, and he seems to be ok that i am an apostate.
he comes over to the house, spends hours talking to the entire family, including apostate me, and he is truly remarkable in that he cares not what others might say about his association with my daughter and me.
good kid.
Wednesday, your experience you related made my blood boil! What a cruel and heartless way to treat anyone! And that elder needed to grow a spine, I think. I wonder what they would have said if Jesus himself, a working-class man with calluses on his hands and dust from the road on his well-worn clothing, had wanted to attend in their fine home?
Micheal-same thing happened to me. I was yanked from the school because of my pierced nose and unrepentant attitude. It was the best thing they could have done for me, because I discovered how nice it was not to have to prepare a part on the school every other week, and to be the householder the rest of the time. From there, it was easy to quit going door-to-door, skip the book study, etc. A few years later, here I am listening to evil music while on an apostate website.

from the ages of around 5-16 i went to all the meetings etc etc.
i am currently 18 years of age, although i am not the ''ideal'' christain boy, i have strong faith in jehova.
Well, aside from him being so rude to his elders (at the tender age of 18, no less!), I wish this pup would at least learn to spell. I mean, if he's as smart as he keeps insisting, why does kozmic have the spelling and grammar skills of an 8 year old child?
we have received copious amounts of rain here in the panhandle, west texas and eastern new mexico, too much in some areas.
the point of all of this is this may be a good year for wildflowers.
we get them by the millions in a good wet year, but this being a semi arid region that doesn't always happen.

Damn, it's like the unholy tentacles of their crappy songs have wrapped around my brain, and are feeding off it despite my efforts to free myself!
I never liked the songs, took a few severe beatings as a child for not singing them loudly enough, and yet they pop into the radio station of my mind at the worst moments. As I'm working, I sometimes find myself humming "The Shulamite Maiden" or "Let's Watch How We Walk" and I have to go play some Pet Shop Boys to exorcise it.

yesterday i joined the "surgery club"...can't say i wish to keep being a member.
it was a same day surgery, but should have stayed at lest overnight.
didn't sleep much last night, as the pain meds made me itch terribly.
CB, I hope you get feeling better really fast! Plenty of sleep, and read lots of trashy novels until you're up and running. Glad to hear you're ok, and please keep us posted.

it always bothered me as jw, just how little social and global responsibility we felt responsible for.
I was a quiet recycler, after being hassled with all the crap about Jehovah fixing it in the new system, so we needn't bother. And a furtive recycler is not a thorough recycler; I was very hit-or-miss.
No charity, are you kidding? For one, I was too broke, and for another, Jehovah wouldn't like me giving my dough to anyone but Bethel, right?
Now, I try to make up for lost time on both counts, all the while shaking my head at what a jackass I was before.
my world is crashing down on all sides around me.
do you know that feeling where you look around and panic just grabs you by the throat.
nothing seems to make sense anymore, nothing gives you happiness.
Vivamus, I'm so sorry you're in this pain. I'll be thinking of you when I pray tonight, that you will feel better soon. If it is a long-term situation, with no resolution in sight, please see a doctor. Therapy or medication might be helpful to you; I took antidepressants for a while, until I didn't need them anymore, and they saved my life.
