there seems to be almost an equal number of men and women who profess to be of the 144000 destined fro heaven.
does the wt society really believe that, if so why don't they ever depict women in heaven.
its always men with beards which are an outward sign of rebellion on earth.
I heard from someone once (so I'm not sure if it's true) that beards are a sign of wisdom and respect in some cultures. Perhaps the WTS discourages the wearing of beards for this reason. On some level, they realize they have no wisdom, and deserve no respect.
iiz2cool,
that is such a good statement and so true - with all the nonsense they put forward , wt is truly not worthy of any respect.

today is a special day for my husband and i,it is our 47th wedding anniversary.it is special because ,up to this day we still very much united and still in love.we have had like many other our hard times.we got married in the catholic church,in venice, and thanks god we did not need the elder to tell us what to do with our selfs.
we always work out according to our necessity, and situations.
we always have been faithful to each other, honest and sincere as been and still our priority, perfect parents?
that is wonderful
congratulations and HAPPY ANNIVERSARYand many more to come

hey all im new to this site its really interesting to see people working out issues, getting things off their chests, and building a community.
im 23 and broke with the faith when i left my parents house at 17, in effect i had before that but it took a while to free my mind from the doctrine.
i like to think all that stuff is behind me but you know, upbringing affects you a lot.
the_red_pill,
welcome to the forum.
i really applaud you for your strenght and determination to better yourself and I believe you are on the right path - self expression through arts and music is trully therapeutic and liberating.
and taking part in disscussion boards like this one is great help, where you can read life stories, research articles, express yourself and your opinion on different subject and allong the way make friends who will accept you with no strings attached.
I wish you all the best and hope to hear more from you.

or was jwisma pain in the ass means to an end a way of avoiding a perceived punishment (an attempt to alleviate anxiety)a way of attempting to gain certain rewardsa path to 'status'a way of avoiding the fear of the unknownthe assurance that you really were 'gooder' than the others, as suspectedthe 'spiritual' way out of giving all your stuff to charity (and in particular to those who don't really deserve it)for other reasons.
I believed that jws can teach us about bible and in the same time we could learn language;also we needed to feel accepted ( we just arrived as immigrants to a new country);and there was good things we learned, from all this jws experience - among others that we were able to see manipulation and hypocracy and to break free from it.

are you still waiting for god's government to begin ruling?
are you still hoping that divine rulership is nearly here?
do you long for the time when jehovah will 'set matters staright among the nations'?.
one of the reasons I got out of that " government" was that it started too much to look like communist party - don`t miss meetings, agree with all political directives, do not ask questions, do what you are told and tell everybody how happy you are.
if not, we`ll punish you.

is it the theology?
is it the smugness that many witnesses have?
is it the multitude of false prophecies and errors?
minimus,
just about everything you mentioned.

hello friends... .
i was wondering if you all could help me with my disassosiation letter... i am planning on writing it tonight, and am looking for scriptures based on "love"... and how the org shows a lack thereof.
any help would be greatly appreciated... .
shamus,
what about this - due to a failure of the wt society to live up to MY high standards of love, compassion and honesty, I can no longer in a good conscience be associated with jehovah`s witnesses.my hand of friendship is however still extended to honest hearted ones who wish to remain my friends and hear true reasons for my leaving.
just a thought.
take care and all the best to you.
