thank you again for your kind words and advice.
I find it interesting that so many who've faded have had such efforts made and visits to try and encourage them back in. I haven't been to a meeting for months, no one's visited me to encourage me. I have mixed feelings bout that. It is a snobby, 'cliquey' congregation anyway, even for regular attenders.

i am looking for the wt articles that contest the lies, half truths and deceptions used by apostates to weaken jws faith in jehovah's spirit directed organization.. can anyone help me find them?.

Black sheep, I quote from the Feb 15 2004 WT, page 17, para 17:
"How can we guard against being deceived by apostates? By heeding the advice from God's Word, which says: "Keep an eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them" (Romans 16:17). We "avoid them" by steering clear of their reasonings - whether in person, in printed form, or on the Internet."
So from this we can see that JWs will never know what the lies, half-truths and deceptions are, since these are contained in the REASONINGS of apostates.
But how does one know to avoid an apostate reasoning before one hears it? If you've already heard the reasoning enough to tell its apostate, DOH you've missed your chance to avoid being deceived by apostates.
do you have any favourite scriptures you use to refute jws, or at least tick them off !

i was looking back and a month ago there was a topic about e-watchman and who he was and why he would expose the wt with one side of his mouth and encourage loyalty with the other side.
i wonder if these might be the reasons.... 1. he himself claims to be of the anointed and truly believes he is helping to expose the "evil slave" amongst jehovah's people.. 2. by encouraging loyalty to the wt he doesn't scare away the numberous active witnesses who read his columns and send in questions.

very well, some of you seem to be in love with apocalypse already boy... look ye, upon his works, and despair.. from his latest commentary:.
I disagree czar, ewatchman was clearly quoting the author of the triple curve thing. He's not making the claim himself.
I am not a follower of ewatchman, but I think that just because the WT and earlier false prophets were wrong on their claims, doesn't mean the great tribulation isn't coming.
My approach is to wait and see. If the dollar collapses, and the things ewatchman predicts come true, then he was right. If we're comfortable with our standing before God and that God is loving and merciful, all will be fine in the end. The problem with the WT's predictions is that they use it to prod JWs to more 'action', and still think they're true prophets despite their many failures.
They jury's out on ewatchman in my opinion.

I've never seen a picketing apostate at an assembly. I think if I had, and they weren't obnoxious about it, it would definitely have 'planted a seed'. The internet saved me.

before post-modernism, when it was fashionable to talk about the 'great ideas' of 'civilization', monotheism was often represented as one of those ideas.
and monotheism did indeed have significant benefits.
it led to concepts of the universal brotherhood of man (siblinghood of humankind, if you want to be pc, i guess), universal ethics, etc.
I disagree, Euphemism. Pluralism is a political type system, it was developed as a political solution to disparate religions, guaranteeing freedom of religion as a universal right, and making religion and state separate, so that religions could co-exist within the polis.
Also, there are tribal groups in the world who have traditionally animistic religions. Politically these groups are status-driven and non-democratic (ancient NZ Maori is an eg).
I agree however that a polytheistic, non-pluralist society will be likely more tolerant of individuality than a monotheistic non-pluralist society. (the Vikings were polytheistic and respected individuality, but they had no respect for the rights of other peoples and practised slavery).

hi, it's been a while since i posted.. circuit assembly program 2003-2004.
theme: rejoice in the hope.
endure under tribulation - romans 12:12. nothing special about this circuit assembly this time round, in fact, it was very boring.
Q: Was there any mention of the UN? Another thread on assembly subject, the poster said he was surprised the DO mentioned the UN in a negative light.
Perhaps this particlar DO made a Doh! - forgot about the new light!

i'm not writing the whole thing out, but here are some "convention reminders" for this years district convention.. "let us exhalt his name together" page 3. para 4. please bring a lunch rather than leave the convention site to obtain a meal during the noon break.
this will allow all to enjoy upbuilding association and be present from the very start of the session.
In one assembly talk an elder, talking about modest dress, said "sisters, does your underwear show?"

Not allowed water drink bottles to suck on, or lollies during the programme. Is distracting for others and shows a lack of appreciation.
