When did Jesus eat with Gentiles? I don't recall this. What I remember is he cured the loved ones of Gentiles. When Jesus came to one man's house, the man went out to meet him saying, "I am not fit for you to be under my roof." He knowing the Jews aversion to Gentiles. Jesus still perfofrmed, though. But I don't think he took a meal.

Acts or Gospels? Who is Right?
by sammielee24 inin the bible paul takes issue with peter regarding his hypocrisy - his objection eating with gentiles.
surely peter would have remembered jesus doing this.
jesus last words were to basically go preach to the world - which would be gentiles.

I think I'm becoming more righteous. How can you get worse when you quit praying for the deaths of 99.99 percent of humanity? I'm still a fader,
but I may like this whole wordly thing. Makes you nicer.

Yes. They do lie. I know, I used to do it. It's called theocratic warfare. It's still a lie. A pile of dog crap would still be what it is if you called it Beethoven's 5th Symphony.
GOOD FOR YOUR HUSBAND!

Did anyone get the old "counterfeit money" illustration?
by themonster123 ina couple of my old witness girlfriends came over last night (note-i only recently left the org.
like 2 months ago, so people are still trying to get me to come back and "reason" with me)...and they used that stupid "counterfeit money" illustration.
i swear, every time i tell people i don't think it's the truth, they put that old illustration on me!

FIrst of all, it isn't an ILLUSTRATION--- it is MISDIRECTION with a word picture. It isn't even a good metaphor. Frankly, I never thought
most illustrations used by JW's were good. Illustrations should make a person think and see the logic of the arguement for themselves as they
discern the relationship between what is being illustrated and the truths and priciples it should reinforce. JW's do not want you to think.

Is the end really coming?
by themonster123 inwell, as anyone on this board knows i"m a newbie....and witnesses kind of are scaring me with their "end is coming" business.
basically, cuz of three things:.
1) the last convention was called "jehovah's day at hand!

The JW's had me in fear all of my childhood. The END will come-- it comes to all of us, friend.
Live, love, laugh, do good to others, be kind, be generous..... and let God worry about sorting everything out. And do not be afraid. There is no joy,
or love in fear--- no future. Live with hope. The human spirit is a beautiful thing. Look for it in others and you'll find it. And GET OUT of the JW's--- they
will scar your soul.

Jehovah's Witnesses have no clergy-laity division - Right or Wrong?
by truthseeker inis this really true?.
http://www.jw-media.org/beliefs/membership.htm.
organizationfollowing the model of first-century christianity, jehovah's witnesses have no clergy-laity division.

They claim they DO NOT have clergy because elders are not paid in dollars for their service. But the distinction between those appointed by the GB as elders/ms and regular publishers is obvious. I do not have a problem with SOME ONE taking the lead within a group. If somoene wasn't in charge there would be chaos. What JW's have done is turn from their elders, co's/do's being ministers and servants to being masters and lords over their flocks. Christ understood some one had to be in charge, but never to "lord it over" the flock like the Pharisees did. Which is what the JW's have done.
And yes, no man need confess a sin to any other man for forgiveness of sins. If you look at it, they are structured like the Catholic CHurch. GASP!!!!

So why dont JW's believe that Jesus is Devine
by JesusIsKing infor jw's this is not an opinion question, so i would like to know your reasons for not believing he is.
thank you..

JW's believe Jesus is divine. They do not believe he is the Almighty. They believe Jesus and the Father are distinct and seperate individuals.
This belief is not particular to them. however, they detract from Jesus the honor that is owed to him, because in their legalistic approach to
their belief system, they think any honor given to Christ is at the expense of the Father. They fail to see that threy were brought into existence by, for, and
because of Christ. They believe this way because they are told to.

WW!
by thebiggestlie inokay this is just a short little observation.
the jws often point to wwi as a sign that the last days had started in october of 1914 when christ was supposedly enthroned as king in heaven and begun his parousia (or his presence as theyd lead one to believe).
now the political unrest that led up to wwi had already been brewing for a while but it wasnt until28th of june 1914, gavrilo princip, a bosnian serb student, shot and killed the archduke of austria franz ferdinand.

Their fantasies do not even possess an internal logic. The WT writers were deluded. I used to think they were beleivers who were mistaken.
The more I research, listen, read, the more I am convinced there was either
a. mental problems
b. alcoholism
c. drug use
in the WT heiarchy when all this early writing was being done.

Undercover gave a great reply regarding what most JW's think about themselves.
One of my best friends, a fellow elder, considers himself a Christian. However, he wants to live forever on Earth and pet lions and screw his beautiful and perfect wife
forever on a non tax paying Earth. So I ask him, "++++, how can you be a Christian and not want to be with Christ?"
My friend doesn't WANT to be with Christ, because he would have to give up ALL the flesh has to offer (sex, pet lions, sailing on an idyllic lake) So different
from Paul who considered everything as refuse compared to the glory offered him by Christ.
So, JW's want the flesh---- the physical things------ Christians seek the spirit------ to be with Christ.
JW's are anti-Christ.
