I was looking at the news the other day and they had a 100 yr old man that went water-skiing for his 100th birthday. Now I was just thinking like a JW and somehow they might say "that 100 year old man would be of the 1914 generation so there are probably millions like him still alive" So if there is lets say a million 100 year old now living do you think that the WT leaders might think that they abandoned ship to quick when they disregarded the 1914 generation doctrine in 1995? How many 100 years olds are around today? Do the 100 year old have to be JW's to be part of that 1914 generation? Or can they be non-JW 100 year olds? Can we expect to see a future "reversal" to the "old light" once again?

Do you think that JW's will "reverse" their 1914 generation doctrine back?

i was waiting for the elders to either disfellowship her or reprove her but nothing happened to her.

I was just curious about this question. When I was a JW I remember a young baptized sister that got pregnant and she was unmarried. I was waiting for the elders to either disfellowship her or reprove her but nothing happened to her. Everybody was talking about this case and said the elders were showing this girl "favoritism"because one of the elders was her uncle. The whole congregation was in chaos over this one pregnant sister. She was treated like a leper. But she was not disfellowshipped or put on public reproof. I was just wondering were there any cases similar to this one in your kingdom hall. I always thought that if a sin is known by outsiders and JW's the elders would have to disfellowship or reprove to keep the congregation from reproach from Jehovah. Years later this same girl got pregnant again and the second time the elders finally disfellowshipped her. She got reinstated about 2 years later and again was disfellowshipped for the 2nd time. As of today she is no longer associating with JW's. Her mother still comes to my mom's hall but off and on. The family drifted away after this girl's younger brother was killed in gang violence. He was a drug dealer and was shot to death over drugs with a rival gang.

I am again confused on a teaching of JW's. While I was at the donut shop an elderly JW woman came up to me and started to discuss Armaggeddon with me. Since this is one of my favorite topics I engaged in dialogue with her. She went on to explain that All of the Governing Body members from Russell to Henschel were of the annoited(144,000) and that some of the 144,000 would survive on earth after Armaggeddon to help the survivors clean up the earth for the new system. Then she went on to say that Jehovah will call them to heaven when the new system begins after they help the survivors(great crowd). She then went on to say that it will be like a twinkling of an eye when the remaining few of the 144,000 will die and go to heaven. I asked this JW woman would this not contradict the bible when it teaches that all of the 144,000 would die before Armaggeddon and be in heaven when Armaggeddon starts or maybe some would die durning Armaggeddon. But I always thought that all of the 144,000 would be dead when Armaggeddon starts. So posters help me out on this one. I am slightly confused on the JW interpretation as well as the Christian interpretation.

What do you think would happen if Russell,Rutherford,Knorr,Franz,Hensc met?
by booker-t ini know this is kind of a joke but i was wondering what would happen if russell, rutherford, knorr, franz and milton henschel all met up for a meeting to discuss the watchtower bible and tract society/jw's and how to run it today?
russell would probably say " i am the faithful and discreet slave" rutherford would say to russell "no you are not that is "old light" i am the faithful and discreet slave class along with my associates" and then nathan knorr would tell them both that they are both wrong the governing body is the faithful and discreet slave class.
and also knorr would tell charles t russell he would be disfellowshipped for wearing his beard.

And also Knorr would tell Charles T Russell he would be disfellowshipped for wearing his beard. And Fred Franz would tell all three of them that he is the "prophet-like" class of the WT society. Then Henschel would step up and say "sorry guys we have tons of "new light" since the 4 of you died. Can you imagine the zig-zag confusion these 5 guys would have with all of the "new light" and changes since the WT society came about with Charles T. Russell as the first President until Milton Henschel as the last official President.

Were the "Pioneers" in your hall treated with favoritism by the Elders?
by booker-t init seems that all of the parts on the theocratic ministry school were given by the pioneers in my old hall.
also the elders were always complemented on how "sister pioneer" is so zealous and loves jehovah.
as if sister not pioneering hated jehovah.

This used to really bug me how the Elders in my hall would always compare non-pioneers to pioneers. And would always imply that Pioneers loved Jehovah and Jesus more then non-pioneers. What are you thoughts on this question posters was it all in my imagination or did pioneer favoritism exist in your hall?

Do you know of any "born-again christians" that became JW's?
by booker-t ini was just wondering how many born-agains become jw's especially the ones that know all about the wt history of false prophecies, scandals, etc; and what do they say now if they might have told you about the errors of the wt.
do they suddenly get amnesia?
i remember when i was in high school in the 1980's there was a girl that used to try and convert me to born-againism.

I thought she was demonized and would tell her she was going to be destroyed at Armaggeddon. She would tell me that the WT was a false prophet and had Satanic doctrines. Now I heard thru the grapevine that she is studying with her JW aunt. I wish I could just tell the girl set her mind back 20 yrs ago.

Can a person get Disfellowshipped for cursing out the elders?
by booker-t ini remember years ago a my cousin was being "harrassed" by the elders in her hall about not going out in field service, being "wild" etc; my cousin was only 20 years old at the time and i think she just wanted to have some fun in her youth.
my aunt who has been a jw's for over 40 years was extremely strict on my young cousin.
i think my cousin just could not take it anymore so when the elders called her in for a committe meeting for the upteen time my cousin told me she just snapped and cursed all four of the elders out.

They did not want to discuss anything further and told my cousin that she will be "disfellowshipped" for disrespecting the elder arrangement. My cousin said at this point she just did not care anymore. But I was wondering especially from ex-jw's elders out their can a person be Df'd for cursing out the elders or was this a made up law by my cousin's elders?

I was reading a post today about the kingdom songs we sang as JW's.
by booker-t ini was thinking about the kingdom songs we sang as jw's and was wondering about you posters out there that are ex-jw's or still jw's what was you all time favorite "kingdom song" or what was you all time horrible song that we sang from both songbooks (1966 songbook or the later songbook made in 1984 sing praises to jehovah.
my favorite song was song #119 in the 1966 songbook "keep your eyes on the prize".
i like this song because it made me feel that armaggeddon was coming fast and the "new system" would be here to give me the prize.

I hated the song from the old songbook and the new songbook "Jehovah is my refuge" because the phrase where it says "10,000 at my right hand 10,000 at my left" and I realized this was talking about dead bodies falling at Armaggeddon and it scared the life out of me because I use to think I would be one of those bodies falling. It is amazing since I have left how I realized the "brainwashing" they did to us using the Kingdom songs.

This is a good post des. Because I went to several christian churches since leaving JWs. I went to Church of Christ, Pentacostal, Calvary Chapel, and Maranatha Christian Church. I must admit these churches had the same theme as JW's. We are right and everybody that don't believe in our interpretation are wrong. All they wanted was money, money, money from people which I got sick of and finally I realized I was going from one cult to another cult and I have basically cut off all churches and religions from my life. I read at home my bible and other religious books but with nobody telling me what to believe. It is total freedom that I could not ever give away to a church or religion again

We all do not go out their and become immoral having sex, sex, sex or go out and do drugs or become drunks, or thieves etc; I still to this day don't drink or smoke or sleep around. I have a steady girlfriend that I have been dating for 3 yrs now. I just don't understand why JW's want to make ex-jws that are living a godly life evil and bad. Why can't they just leave us alone.
