You will never believe this, it is ridiculous. We moved into the country 2 months ago. Since we moved into here, our neighbors accross the street never keep their dogs in their yard. All hours of the day and night those dogs roam all over the place, once we caught them at 3:00 in the morning barking on our back porch. Anyway, our puppy is a Boston Terrier-Chihuahua mix, his dogs are big (German Sheppards). Our dog went into heat and is kept on a leash. Yesterday morning when we let our dog out, we caught his two dogs trying to mount her and drag her into the woods. All morning I kept having to shoo those dogs out of our yard (yes, I know it is insinct on the dogs part, but this is an ongoing problem in the neighborhood). Anyway, I finally had enough and called Animal Control. The officer came out and told me that he wished that the dogs were in my yard when he was here because he has nothing to prosecute without seeing them in our yard. That he had other calls, but everytime he comes out the dogs are sitting in their front yard, innocent as can be. Anyway, he went over to their yard and what happens, the dogs come running up into our yard trying to get our dogs. Would not leave. Nobody was home and he couldn't catch the dogs, so he left them a ticket on their door telling them within 24 hours they need to have those dogs penned or leashed up or he was taking them. By the time my husband came home from work, the neighbors were also home and not to happy that we called "the law" on them. My husband was driving up the driveway and low and behold the dogs were in our yard and the lady was outside just letting them roam into our yard. My husband stopped the car and yelled at the dogs and got into a war of words with the lady. Then the husband came home, tried telling us what we should do in OUR YARD and boy did it go from there. I feel like I have a war on my hands now, the neighbor threatened that if our dog gets off her leash and he ever sees her down there he will shoot her. Then when all was said and done and we were in the house, you hear this hugh BOOM outside. I don't know if he shot something or that was just our warning that he has a gun and isn't afraid to use it. It amazes me that Animal Control took two dogs away from them before we moved out here (not by us calling), then took two more dogs away 2 weeks after we moved in (again, not by us calling), and has been out there warning them about these last two dogs 4 or 5 times, but this is all our fault!!

I found this very funny. We recently moved about a 1000 miles from our home state. The night before we left we spent the night at my in-laws. A bunch of our family came to visit to say goodbye. One of my Aunts (who gets pissed off at the jw's) came and started in on me that I was in the wrong for not telling my step-parents (her brother) that we were moving. She couldn't understand how I would not want to have anything to do with them after all that they have put me through. It literally started a huge fight. People took sides, well, my side anyway. I thought it was very funny, of course the hurt wasn't funny at the time.
After locking me in my room as a teenager, ignoring me and preaching to me for so many years, making my children wonder why they are the way they are and basically just being hypocrites I have had enough. Why is it so hard for people to understand that?

witness/non-witness romance- how'd yours fare? Check in!
by detective ini'm just doing this as an easy reference point for our new board members who came here seeking advice on their witness/non-witness romantic relationships.
questions for board members: .
* have you been in this type of relationship?

I have been in a witness-non-witness relationship, it ended up leading to 10 years of happy marriage and going strong yet. The result was my being disfellowshipped. I would do it again in a heartbeat, I would never want to spend one day without my wonderful husband. He gives me understanding and unconditional love that I never got within the org.

Would you have to lie to be reinstated if DF'd for something you didn't do?
by True North inif a jw was disfellowshipped for something they didn't do -- perhaps as the result of false or mistaken accusations -- would they have to lie by "admitting" the "sin" to get reinstated.
otherwise, if they refused to admit it, wouldn't they be considered unrepentant?
seems like it could be a sort of catch 22.

When my brother (who was a witness) wanted to divorce his wife (also one) he had to lie to get df'd. He had to tell them he cheated on her, get df'd just to get his divorce. In actuality, she cheated on him and was abusive. How is this right.

Why Did You Leave "The Truth"?
by Corvin inlurkers come in and out of this forum.
some lurkers suddenly have bouts of righteous indignation and become trolls that lash out at some of the subject matter posted here by x-jw's.
they accuse many of "leaving jehovah" for fleshly desires.

As a df'd person, I can tell you, Jw's say they don't gossip, but they do. I was df'd and I got all kinds of letters from so called "sisters" telling me all the gossip surrounding my stand. These reasons ranged from being pregnant to having a split personality. I thought they weren't even supposed to mention your name?

I once dyed my hair, wanting to go darker. I followed all directions. I ended up looking like a skunk. Dark down the middle at the roots out about 3 inches, the rest was blonde. Needless to say, the next day I wore a hat to work. My hair had to be stripped of all color and givin new color. What started out cheap cost me over $50.00. Not a good experience.

Prince Streetwitnessing?
by Gadget inmy line manager from work got back from holiday in hollywood on sunday, and all day at work yesterday he was telling us all about it.
on his tour of beverley hills he had princes mansion pointed out, but was told that the singer didn't live there anymore, but had bought a bar on sunset boulavard instead and could be found outside it everyday giving out religious leaflets.
and sure enough, when he went down there, prince was standing on the street talking to people and giving them religious leaflets.

Did anyone hear Prince's speach when he was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame? It was the biggest line of bullspit I had heard in a long time. He is going out on tour now, going to play a lot of hits, but none of them that go against his new religious beliefs!! What a load.

How do you deal with family members who still cling to the beliefs and yet NEVER attend meetings or assemblies? My step-parents all but stopped going to the meetings when I was df'd, guess I was too embarassing. But, they cling to their beliefs. First they will talk to me, then I will do something they don't agree with and stop talking to me on the basis of their "beliefs", then they will get over it and talk to me again and start the whole thing over again. The worst thing they ever did was at my Grandma's 75th birthday party this summer, yes they went. I was adopted by my aunt and uncle when my mom died. My aunt was my mom's sister. This was 25 years ago and at my Grandma's party, my step-mom went around introducing me to relatives at "****'* daughter." Do you realize how hurtful that was? How would she feel? Even my non-JW relatives were shocked and apologizing to me for it.
