Having a hard time accepting the truth about the "truth" that is really an organization of liars, deceptive lawyer sharpies, corrupt leadership with rotten fruitage, false teachers, false prophecies, and a reputation of tarnished name harboring incestuos family members who are taking the lead in the congregations? By thier fruitage they will be regongnized. And what makes you think that this organization is represented by the Almighty God of the Universe?. And even if that were something that I believed, I would know that there are examples in the Bible that shows men who were considered to be hated by the religous leaders of the time were used to expose thier corruption. In those days Jeremiah, considered to be crazy, and others were used to expose hypocracy. I believe, even a Samaritan was used in Jesus time to show acts of kindness not displayed by the "true worshippers" of the day. Be careful you don't get too full of yourself before dateline airs.

i admire what you are trying to do in behalf of all those that have been sexually abused, but i believe you are going about it in the wrong way.. you have taken up a fight against jehovah himself and this is futile.
the organization has some flaws, as is expected of any imperfect organization.

Nimrod - the original freethinker?
by Seeker4 inin an earlier discussion on this board about whether the nwt mistranslated the verse in genesis about nimrod being "a might hunter in opposition to jehovah," there was some really interesting research material presented.
as i read it i began to realize that there seems to be a central reason why nimrod has been presented as one of the truly evil men of human history.. the witnesses emphasize that he was the one who started war, becoming a killer and tyrant.
but in one of the quotes, there is a more likely reason for nimrod being vilified and demonized.

Seeker, I think, in my opinion, that the ancient Israelites, like the governing potty today, believed they were the only ones who were worthy of an intimate relationship with their perception of God. Like those of today, they put thier own interpretaions, superstitions, racial hatreds into their worship and biblical accounts. Now I look at all holy writings that have good concepts but have human imperfection in thier accounts. Humankind who have taken part in writing these accounts, in thier human, superstitous, relgious prejudicial ways, have literally fashioned god to be images of themselves, with all the qualities that originate suffering, and war. Like then, so too today. Organized religion, especially organized spiritutally abusive religions have caused much death and suffering in the name of thier gods. I think, now the simple humanitarian teachings of Jesus were being perverted as early as the apostle Paul, who brought in his own issues and interpretations to the congregations. I now feel that my path in life is go live and use to the best of my ability the gifts and talents I was created with and to use these in a way that will be good to my fellow human beings. Isn't that what being in harmony with God and the Universe really is?

by Room 215 inwith the pre-memorial drums beating through dubland, it brings to my mind how the jw insistence on a literal reading of the 144,000 in revelation 7 and 14 has poisoned their entire outlook of the new testament and the teachings of christ.. although they're the most aggressive proselytizers of christendom, it's no wonder they've cooked up a host of specious rationalizations to demur on invitations to participate in public debates: they must know that their position on this bedrock teaching of christianity, i.e.
that jesus died and was raised for all and in his position of hevenly glory, intercedes on their behalf.
there's no question that any attempt by jws to defend their ludicrous teaching in a public forum would subject them to embarassment and well-deserved ridicule, and expose their cultishess.. and this is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg: look what the literal 144,000 does to eviscerate the power of jesus illustration of the sheep and the goats; it compels jws to equivocate on other crystal clear christian concepts, i.e the sonship of god and leading of the holy spirit.

Room 215, this is what I have been saying for the last few years since I have been able to look at this false teaching and think critically on it. Literally, those of us who were not of the annointed, were forced under pain of expulsion to reject by physically passing by of the "emblems" of Christ. I never had quite looked at it before in that way. How cruel of the Watchtower to have made those of the "less than class" feel unworthy of having God's "spirit" choose us. I am so glad I am not under thier emotional controll any longer.

JW's Offer Me A Plea Bargain.
by Englishman ini havent mentioned this before because, when it happened i was quite rattled.. there was a knock at the door a little while back, and who should be stood there but john dayment, the fella who used to be my dads assistant when he was po of weston super mare, back in the 60s.. he had with him another chappy, i think that his name was rod something, and they both launched into how good it would be to see me make my way back.
apparently they were both elders, and this was my once a year visit.
i was disinclined to be rude because my mum is still in contact with john hey, for all i know he might be my step-father one day!

translation in the nwt and found it interesting that the information that they use in the reasoning book regarding apostates is taken from jude and the experience of korah with moses.
it seems they use this scripture to identify elders as the "glorious ones", and anyone speaking against the society is compared to korah speaking against moses.

Hi Room, I have actually wanted to do the same thing. Especially after hearing on the news today the Jehovah's Witnesses are going to the Supreme Court to argue their "constituional rights" which they have no respect for. What about the pictures on this site showing the destructive message and pictures of children and puppies killed and burning buildings that look like the work of the Taliban? People at the doors should be aware that these key teachings are why the Watchtower Society has not regard for women and children and protect pedophiles. Can these pictures be downloaded and copied and distributed and even sent to the Supreme Court or FBI? Just a thought.

many of us know that the society's media website, http://www.jw-media.org contains quite a bit of misleading information, such as on the shunning issue.
under the link to "their beliefs" -> "frequently asked questions" ( http://www.jw-media.org/beliefs/beliefsfaq.htm ) they ask the question, "do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?

Alan, the essay you posted is extremely informative and shows the WT's real stand regarding this issue. Their PR spin is to keep the general public from knowing exactly the darker teachings that are taught to new ones studying and to the rank and file. If your were to ask any child, or young person attending meetings today, they would only remember the fearful teachings of destruction at the hands of a "loving god". This is good information to forward to Dateline.

(((((((FLOWER))))))) You are in a good place to continue in your recovery of the pain of abandonment and rejection. You won't find that here. Differing opinions and sometimes bickering but I think all here have gone through thier private wounds over Watchtower abuse in all it's forms. It is not a shameful thing to go to a hospital feeling dispair. In fact it is the strong ones who know they need help in healing and changing self destructive behaviors, who choose in patient therapy for their recovery. Do you know how many dubs spend thier lives denying their anger and pain through their addictive self destructive dependence of the Watchtower? The countless hours at meetings field service, assemblies, and dub gatherings, and same conversations keep them from looking into themselves. I too was abandoned by parents, and that pain that carries through to adulthood can be denied many years. For me the ultimate abandonment and betrayal was of friends and family in the "TRUTH". It hurt deeply and still does. But coming through the other side of such experience helps to make you stronger when you work through the pain. While you do that this board is a place where you can have kind of online group therapy. and find some personal validation. Going through what you have gone through will help you feel compassion. Something that seems to be so evident here on this board. I believe out of bad things always comes good, and we learn and grow in the process. Consider yourself the fortunate one because you have taken the brave step of looking at the Watchtower, your relationship with it and the issues you have with it and its connection to your parental abandonment issues with your father. Trust your feelings and keep communicating with those you feel comfortable with. A good book that was very comforting to me in the beginning of my recovery was by Melody Beatty "Journey from the Heart". I wish you peace and healing.
