While God has been a physist for 15 billion years he has only been a theologin for six thousand years. Anyway that was the explaination of a delegate at a creation science conference held by the SDA church.

Preaching Work is unique identifier
by besty inseveral conversations with current jw's have thrown up this validation of their faith.
i can think of several lines of refutation: .
1 - ask 'is increase proof of gods blessing?

steve2 the figure of 14 million is in the Wilkipedia but I beleive the JW membership is slightly higher in the US than the SDAs.
I beleive the penticostal groups would have the fastest growth of all.

Questions For Non-JWs
by sweet pea init just struck me that a lot of what we post comes under "you couldn't make it up"!
so my questions to those of you that aren't jw's or partnered with one - why do you continue to come here, does it entertain/surprise/inform you?
if you knew no jehovah's witnesses would you still be interested?

As a non JW the thing that amazes me the most is, How the WT has so much power and how do they get away with what they do to people?
Ive been effected by the WT myself my first wife studied with the JWs but didnt become one and I also studied with them.
Im a 7th Day Adventist which is a strict religion but it pales in comparison the the JW religion. My SDA pastor even came to the memorial with me when I was invited to come by a JW
Also my initial purpose in coming here was to find any developements in the JWs since the time I studied with them. I felt there would be because of the internet and the greater flow of information we all see in these times but to my amazement there is no progress at all. The JW religion must be the perfect model for cultists the world over. Barry

Women aren't suppose to be ministers..says who?
by A-Team ini've been hearing this from the 7 day advantist, church of christ and jws, and was show 1 cor 14:36 as proof.
but, i decided to read the context of the verse....and it paints a different picture, atleast imo (ps i am not saying that females should be heads of congerations, now that is out of order.
) i'm using the message translation, for clarity.

Gday Mr A Team,
In fact 7 day adventists do have a few ministers in the states and also have a long tradition of women lay preachers leading in the divine service.
In Australia females have taken theology degrees but I dont know any that have been ordained as ministers.

JWs and their thoughts on prayers by "worldly" people.
by R.F. inhow have jws expressed their views as to the prayers of people that aren't jws?
do they think god listens and answers?.
for instance, one elder that was speaking of prayer said, "just think how wonderful it is.

I remember going to a Presbyterian Church service that was an ecumenical type service. The minister presiding prayed for all the religious communities in the small town including the Jehovahs Witnesses. No JWs were actually at the service.

Going Veggie
by Sirona inwhen i was jw, i didn't know any vegetarians.
they had the teaching that god had allowed us to eat animals, so we just eat animals.
no questions asked.. just recently i started to consider being vegetarian.

Gday brentr, While I agree with you in some ways our ancestors didnt have refrigerators and they didnt eat meat every day. They did eat meat after a hunt or when something got fat. So meat eaten occasionally would probably more heathfull Also if you were to havedairy foods and eggs in youre vegetarian diet it would take care of the deficencies normally accociated with a vegetarian diet vit b12 etc.

There is a show on the tv in Australia called 'Whats good for you ' and last night they annalysed 5 different diets from vegan , lacto vegetarian . balanced diet with lean meat to a diet with excessive amounts of meat. From the annalysis by the experrts the lacto vegetarian diet was the best because it provided all the essentials but had a very high amount of good fats.
The worst diet was the vegan because b12 was dangerously low folllowed by the high meat diet because the colestrol level was high.
The lacto vegetarian diet is actually one supported by the SDA church although only about one third of SDAs follow the diet. In studies the one third of SDAs that are vegetarian live five to ten years longer and they have a better quality of life. the other two thirds of SDAs who have a regular diet have the same ailements as the rest of the population. Because of the longivity of ministers and church workers the churches retirement plans have been in the red and is not likely to improve in the near future.
Being an SDA myself maybe I should change my canivorous ways.
