If you could ask one question to an active JW to get them to open their mind about their beliefs, what would it be?
by Franklin Massey inthis question was posed to me by a poster named ice cream.
i don't know my answer yet.
it's one of those, "if you could have just one wish.." kind of questions.

How can they say that every human DESERVES to die
by jambon1 inreligion generally sickens me.
for various reasons.
perhaps in my own case it is just because of my bad experiences.. however, in my own moments of deep thought i cannot help but realise how absolutely insane some of the teachings are.. how can jw's (and other religions) say that every human deserves to die.

Religion was invented to control man. The whole born into sin crap is just another way of making people feel worthless and make them believe they need a certain religion to be worthy of life.
It's all about contolling the masses.

Great Job again Blondie!!
Today, he likewise approves of those, young or old, who refrain from delving into the “deep things of Satan” by means of the Internet or violent video games or by indulging in permissive human reasonings.
What the hell does "permissive human reasonings" mean. Are JW's no longer alound to reason. Just blindly follow a bunch of old men in NY.

Has anyone ever had a 'Near Death Experience' ?
by 3Mozzies ini'm wondering if anyone here has had a "near death experience" or know of someone that has.
as an example: such as floating above your body during your operation when the doctors 'lose' you and you make a decision to return back to your body even though the bright light and some voice tell you otherwise... .
did it change you/them in anyway?.

Reasearch on this subject is being done with some interesting results.
This guy is using a modified helmet (God Helmet) to induce out of body experience.
He claim that certain magnetic fields will cause people to have a spiritual experience.
Funny thing is tha he mentions Charles Taze Russell creating the JW's when there was a meteor shower.

I had the same feeling when I walked out of my last meeting. It was a circuit assembly. Total happiness. It was a absolute beautiful day, the sun was shining and I had a huge smile on my face. I left and went to visit my mother. I never went back and I've never been happier. My family doesn't have much to do with me but that's their loss. My girlfriend says that it takes great courage to leave a religion you were raised in and lose all your friends. She's right but I don't miss any of those so called friends. I now have true friend that don't care what religion I am or if I even believe in God. They love me for who I am.

Same here. I absolutely love Christmas. Even though I don't really believe in God anymore I love this time of year. Everyone is happy and I love giving gifts. I really put allot of thought into what gift to give and try my best to make sure it's a personal gift.
I was recently in Santa Claus, IN. Cool little town with an awesome Christmas Shoppe.

I teach karate twice a week. And when I say teach I don't just stand in front of the class and bark out instructions. I actually do everything I ask the students to do.
I also do 30 minutes on an elliptical or bike and lift weights before karate class.
I'm getting ready to buy and elliptical for the house and a stationary trainer for the mountain bike.
Hopefully that will get me through the winter and ready for spring.

Top 10 signs you are a Fundamentalist Christian. Not my top 10 though.
by worldtraveller intop ten signs you're a fundamentalist christian .
10 - you vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - you feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
