Oh my God! 1991! Hawk, thanks for calling them. I am flabbergasted. I don't know how to use this information but I plan to use it. And someone else said this is when the Awake first published a positive article about the UN.
i've seen the threads on the wts' involvement with cesnur, swaggert, and the un.
since then, i've done additional research on the internet, including accessing the un's webiste and searching for "watchtower" and "jehovah's witnesses.
" and i am concerned that many of the posts on this website grossly overexaggerate the degree of the wts's involvement and its purpose.. in my internet research, the only connection i have seen between the wts and cesnur or the un is in situations on the world scene threaten their right to religious freedom.

I just wanted to add that it is so hypocritical because in practice they DO charge for the literature since the congregations are required to pay a set price for each item and if they don't they will not receive future literature orders.
So they are illegally avoiding taxes in this issue, which is also hypocrisy since they require JW's to pay their taxes.

I found your post very interesting. I remember when I first became a witness I mentioned to a MS that I thought the JW's "theocracy" was facist. I thought they wielded much to much control over the JW's lives and I even said that I hoped it wasn't an indication of what the New System would be like. He agreed with me. Eventually, this type of thinking revealed that I was the type to question "too much" and doubt "too much" and that's why I'm out. Far as I know, the MS is now an elder. But he agreed with me. Wonder if he still does or if he's one of the "projectors" as you say.
ok so i hear from my bro, that he hears the fbi is saying somthing might happen on the 22nd.
the other day there were several low flying planes around the nuclear station in our area.
they were unknown, and there was not to be any schedualed flights at the time in the area.
Seeker: Even though they know about the 22nd, that doesn't mean they can't do it any other day of the year. I believe we may be in for complete lockdown mode anyways.

disassociation versus disfellowshipping is an interesting discussion for several reasons.
morally, one thing matters: both are procedures put in place by the wts to impose shunning.
that is the bottom line.
