explorer spoke about ex-jw's hating jw's and spoke about forgiveness.. i dug up an article from the 12/1/97 watchtower.. in paragraph 15, under the sub-heading, when it seems impossible to forgive, the article stated this:.
what, though, if others sin against us in a way that inflicts the deepest of wounds, and yet there is no acknowledgement of the sin, no repentance, and no apology on the part of the offender?
(proverbs 28:13) the scriptures clearly indicate that jehovah does not forgive unrepentant, hardened sinners.
Quester, excellent points!
The article also brought out that apologoes may NEVER come, as it was speaking of very malicious acts.
So, many here are venting, and helping others thru trauma as well.
This forum helps many to get thru the hurt and move on.
As I stated in my original post, many JW's only see the emotional output from injured ones, and THAT is what they attack.

TR, you reproduce well. :-)

I dug up an article from the 12/1/97 Watchtower.
In paragraph 15, under the sub-heading, WHEN IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGIVE, the article stated this:
What, though, if others sin against us in a way that inflicts the deepest of wounds, and yet there is no acknowledgement of the sin, no repentance, and no apology on the part of the offender? (Proverbs 28:13) The Scriptures clearly indicate that Jehovah does not forgive unrepentant, hardened sinners. (Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:26, 27) What about us? Insight on the Scriptures says: "Christians ae not required to forgive those who practice willful sin with no repentance. Such become God's enemies." (Volume 1, page 862) No Christian who has been a victim of extremely unjust, detestable, or heinous treatment should feel forced to forgive, or pardon, a wrongdoer who is not repentant.-Psalm 139:21, 22.
Many on this board have been such victims. Many are understandably still smarting from unjust treatment.
What I see is NOT hate, but HURT. I notice that most JW's will judge the emotions they see, instead of the CAUSE of such.
Paragraph 16 continues:
Understandably, those who have been vicims of cruel mistreatment may feel hurt and angry.
So there you have it-out of the mouth of the WTS itself. They are NOT exempt from persons being unforgiving, as they are responsible (either by passively standing by and doing nothing, or by ordering their henchmen to destroy lives) for inflicting deep wounds on countless people. They do this with NO remorse, NO apology, NO REPENTANCE!!!!
if I had $.02, this would be it,

she is studying with one of jws.
she has a study with her teacher, and then she comes here and talks about it.
she learns that the wts teaches one thing to new ones, but something else entirely to those who are already baptized.
ROTFLMAO @ JeffT, and BBoy...LoL

hello all: this is a new york assembly bill.
that is why it is preceded by an "a" in the bill number.
also, new york has passed several related bills protecting children, especially against abuse and violence.
Hi Amazing,
TY for the info. I believe that New Jersey passed a similar law a few years ago.

call me a neopositivist, a semi-verificationist or semi-falsificationist, but the claims made by "silentlambs" reminds me of the shakespearean line that was quoted in the creator book published by the wtbts.
that is, the contentions of silentlambs seem like much "sound and fury" that in truth signify nothing.
i am of course referring to the supposed dateline show and the claims made about some members of the gb of jehovah's witnesses.
Dunscot, SL did NOT say those GB members were child molesters. Yes, the suggestion of such was made in several responses to his post, for example, references to NAMBLA and such.
Personally, I hold to the theory that ANY organization is a microcosm of our larger society. That being so, I believe that we will find a closely matching percentage of similar dysfuntions, personalities, etc. in that smaller part of society. So, check stats for molestation in society at large, and I think you will find molestation in similar numbers.
Of course, given the shame that victims experience, the guilt that comes from "ratting out" a "brother", and the WTS method of covering up such offenses, some victims may not come forward, so numbers within the WTS may never add up to that of society in general-not on paper!!!
However, I am sure that SL and those involved will certainly deliver the info as promised.

how bout those jw's helping their neighbors?
of course a neighbor is only defined as a fellow jw..... i do not know if i can take much more of this hypocritical masturbation.
for immediate release .
yawwwwnnnnn.....So the JW's in Houston did a good deed after a flood. How about organizations who strive EVERY DAY to help their communities, such as the afore-mentioned Habitat for Humanities? Its the little things in everyday life that makes a true difference as far as I am concerned.
The RED CROSS has been helping victims of disasters for decades. They likely got a mere line in the middle of a news story after the Houston flood.
Yep, just a way to toot their own horn, as evidenced by the contact numbers following the article.
