this is a neat little test, there aren't any wrong answers, only what you think, after answering the questionaire it tells you approximately where you stand on political and economic policy.
(numbers below 0 are to the left, numbers above 0 are to the right).

hi friends,.
i've read the thread "how many left over the un issue?".
i know ginosko, he is the elder, a very good friend of mine, i told you about when i wrote the threads about the un and my congregation.
Hi CaballoSentado,
I will answer yes to your questions. I believe I am a better person now. I am still a believer in the God of the bible, so I will credit my Lord and Savior for the changes in my life.
People have made comments about the changes (for the better) in my life. I am happier than I have ever been in my life with a great sence of peace, and that in spite of the fact, that I have lost most of my family.
When I was a JW, (born and raised in it) I tried many times to be "good", I wanted to please Jehovah, but I continually failed. The reason was, I was trying on my own, to do what the bible shows ONLY our Lord can do.
When I learned that I can do nothing to earn salvation, that it is a FREE gift from God, and that my only obligation is to have faith in Him and give my life to Him, I was "free indeed" and started to enjoy life. (I will spare everyone the rest of the sermon.)

florida xjw meeting .
saturday april 27, 2002.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm .
Flower,
I can see your point. I guess the other side of the story is that thousands of ex-jws and those just questioning the WT, have no idea that there are conventions, support groups, etc.
The big one, New Ringgold, is no secret to the WT. For several years a group would charter a bus the day before the Penn. convention, and go to Brooklyn, to demonstrate at the WT headquarters, the day before the convention. Also TV programs have been made from the Penn. convention.
But, for anyone wanting to attend the Penn. convention and remain anonymous, it should be no problem. There are several hundred there and no one is required to speak. So, you can be there without anyone knowing who you are, if you choose.
I should mention that a convention is coming up in central California in about 7 weeks. Anyone wanting more info, can e-mail me.

quote.
"i feel you should remember where you got the truth.
first, who was the one feeding you to where you are now.".
I believe any truth I got while in the Wt org. came only from the bible. The only thing the WT gave me was the poison they added to that food.

what do you think of this idea, has it been done?
i was thinking that if i did decide to da myself, one fun way to do it might be to place a public notice in a regional paper.
something not libelous(unfortunately), just saying that i no longer wanted to be know as one of jws because i could not reconcile the discrepancies/divide between jws organization and the bible.
I like the idea Meat Pie, I didn't think of that when I left. I think now if I were to do that, I might pay for a 4x4 commercial ad, maybe even put in pictures, etc.

i'm really into politics and current events.
i'm more of the libertarian type.
i voted bush the last election, clinton before.
I am a lot like the Rev. I consider myself somewhere to the right of Rush Limbaugh.
A couple of years after leaving the WT I registered as a Republican. I voted for Alan Keyes in the primary but he did not get past that. I felt like GW was sort of forced on us as a candidate, so in resentment, I voted Libertarian.
I consider myself more of an independant now but will not vote for anyone liberal.

for some reason on my way to the meeting last night i was thinking what if there was a reasoning book for talking with jws.
in particular a section with rebuttals for common jw thinking.
jesus disciple's made false predictions too.. jehovah has always used an organization.. the light keeps getting brighter.. who else is doing the work that we are?.
Just a little addition to my last post.
The teaching that Jesus IS God is vital to a Christian. (a follower of Christ) It is one of the most important differences in the groups claiming to be Christian and a true Christian.
The groups claiming to be Christian, like the Jehovah's Witnesses, believe that Jesus was just a man, in the flesh. Some believe he was a prophet, but, still, just a man.
Those groups believing that Jesus was JUST a man are admitting that they follow a man or men, something that the bible continually warns us NOT to do.
A Christian, believing that Jesus IS God, is of course, following GOD.

Hmmm, Mormans, Catholics, Baptist, Methodist, Scientologists, need I continue?
Have to disagree with you here, NameWithheld. Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, teach that Jesus IS God. I am not sure about Scientologists.
Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, and a lot of other groups do not teach that Jesus is God, just like the JWs.

i've been to visit your site several times.
i thought it was for witnesses.
i found something i wasn't necessarily looking for though.
South,
I don't see very many, of the approximately 5000 members, complaining about how bad they have it SINCE they left the WT. I think mostly we complain about how much of our lives we wasted in a God dishonoring, lying, deceptive CULT.
