  JWs and Clothing

  where i live, its not usual for people to "dress up," especially business people and executives, you are more likely to see them with a button up shirt, khakis, and one of those fleece vests on.

  so, on the whole, jws look very out of place wearing their cheap suits (though a few elders didn't wear cheap suits and they made that known, "look at this, i got a spot on my new $200 designer shirt" -- really, something like this happened).

  but what i did notice is that, in my area, dressing guidelines usually weren't followed, or enforced for that matter, for good looking women.

  " each time i hear words like these get a strange mental reaction.

  Gods and the Trinity

  one of the claims against the trinity that the wtbts makes is that "[s]ince the bible calls humans, angels, even satan, "gods," or powerful ones, the superior jesus in heaven can properly be called "a god.

  in the old testament, the hebrew employs elohim to signify what the wt says above.

  but it is interesting to note that psalm 82 (81 in the septuagint, and i will be using septuagint numbering from now on), in which the judges of israel are called "gods," is a satire.

  Objects in the Sky and Sundry Things

  now i will preface this by saying that i don't believe in aliens, but i do believe that everything observable has a logical, rational, and scientific explanation.

  one night a few years ago, i saw the strangest thing in the sky.

  i had a bunch of lights and kind of looked like it was moving slowly.

  Favourite Horror/Comedy

  mine is "shaun of the dead.

  " such a funny movie ("its on random!").

  besides being funny it also has genuine horror elements that you wouldn't expect plus an evisceration.

  when i was 12 and trying to get baptized i did (only five hours a month!

  not getting a jw baptism was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

  so, did y'all ever get bothered by the "elders" for not spending enough time in field service?

  the people in this story sure sound like jw's, especially the part about birthdays and christmas... it doesn't say in the article though.
