I remember once on a service meeting part I was asking questions and I called on somebody and the guy running the mics just stood there so I said his name, "Brother ****... Brother ****... BROTHER ****!" That seemed to wake him up. He was pretty embarrassed.
Another time I was supposed to have a demonstration, but the sisters weren't there. I don't remember exactly what I said but it came out sounding like I had planned people to come up and perfom something kinky. I didn't mean it to, but that's how it sounded, even to me. Well the audience was a mixture of giggles and stern stares. I do remember what I said right after that, "Well, I'll just continue then..."

JW's on trick or treat night
by carla inhow did your jw families appreciate people knocking on your doors on trick or treat night?
ever answer the door and tell them how pagan they were?
we had one jw house that used to be totally dark except for the porch light so we could read their sign- we are jw's and do not celebrate halloween.

All those years (all my life) of ignoring the doorbell on halloween and nothing ever happened. Not too many even came to the door as I always kept the porch light out.
Well now, my first halloween NOT a JW, and my house gets egged. -

My son asked P.O. wife what she was wearing for halloween today at Walmart!
by PaNiCAtTaCk inim assuming this is finally it for me and my family.. i havent been to a meeting in probably 2 and a half months but im just considered weak by most i presume.
i had decided to let my son go trick or treating for the first time this year, after all my wife and i decided to raise him as a normal kid.
so last month when he came home from school and said to us "someone asked me at school what i as going to be for halloween and i told them batman", i just said "oh really" and acted excited for him.

At least now most of the people in the cong you went to will know why you're gone. Instead of hearing from the platform, "panicattack is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses" and assuming you did something "bad", they'll hear from this sister what you told her.
At least you got a chance to communicate your thoughts to her and the tons of people she's going to tell. Not everyone gets that opportunity. -

What do you feed your cat/dog pets
by greendawn into all those that have pet cats and/or dogs, what do you feed them?
it is said that tinned cat/dog food is made with all sorts of horrible things such as anything from an animal that's not fit for human consumption, intestines, spleens, blood, hide, plus dead animals, feathers chemically treated to become digestible protein and rancid discarded oils from restaurants.
cheap cereal fillers are added to lower production costs.

I feed my cats Iams and my dogs Nutro Natural Choice.
I have made food for the dogs before with chicken, rice, garlic and onion. They love it and it's good for them, but it sure fill them up with liquid so they're outside for a while when I make that.
My oldest dog is 16 1/2 (lab/shepherd mix) and she's doing fine. Had cancer at 9 and a large tumor removed. Kinda slow and doesn't hear as well as she used to, but she's happy, gets around fine and bosses the basset (6) around all day. He does whatever she tells him. -

I feel bad for the guy as I hate to see something like that happen to anyone.
Jesus Saves? You hear so many experiences from people about how god or jesus protected them or saved them or whatever, but every time I hear it I think, "Why didn't he save so and so from some other circumstance?" Promoting the idea that jesus protected you or someone specifically really indicates that when bad things happen to other people that he decided to NOT help them. That's a pretty nasty judgement to make on other people. -

Lets be real
by acuragirl inhey everyone lets take a poll.how many of you actually believe in god without a doubt?

I don't know if I believe in God or not. Of course sometimes I just assume he's there since I spent my whole life assuming that, but recently as I think more on it, I'm not really sure.
Myself I'm not interested in Halloween. I don't have a problem with it, it just isn't appealing to me. But my daughter is planning to go out with some friends and her friends mom tonight for the first time and I have no problem with that. Yesterday we went and picked out a costume for her and I throroughly enjoyed it. Just being at the store with all those excited kids picking out stuff at the last minute was alot of fun. My daughter was happy and for the first time I really felt like we were part of something. -

Your personal ad, if you were really honest about it...
by DanTheMan inhere's mine:.
title: "i yam what i yam".
i think farting is funny.. when an old ac/dc song comes on the radio, i turn the volume to the max even though it makes the speakers crap out.

My ad would read:
Title: "Not Dan"
When I'm driving I sing along with the songs on the radio. When a good song comes on I turn it up, that's when I remember that the speaker in the passenger door doesn't work.
I love children. I have a daughter that lives with me. Would like to have another.
I have no interest in sports. That means I don't like football. I don't watch sports or listen to sports. I don't care about sports. To be more clear, I don't want to discuss sports with others!
I used to get really depressed sometimes and think about suicide. That was during the years that I was a member of a religious cult. I don't seem to have those thougts anymore and I really enjoy life now.
I have reached many goals in my life and have more to look forward to. I live assuming I can reach them, and if it doesn't work out I make the best of whatever happens.
I'm average height and of slight build. I'm not old like Dan, well ok, I'm older.
I don't have an old car like Dan, I drive a 1993 Toyota Corolla, slightly rusty.
I read alot and have alot of books. I go back and read the good ones again.
I don't hang around with alot of friends, I'm happy to spend time with my daughter and time working. I go out now and then but probably less than the average person. I keep to myself alot and I like it that way. (I get along very well with myself)
My house is usually slightly messy but not too bad. I like things to be clean and try to keep up with it.
I rarely streak. -

The person who brought you into the "lie"
by pratt1 in.
just wondering, is the person who studied with you still an active dub?.
in a poll with a few of my friends, all who studied with either us or our parents are now not considered dubs.

I'm told that the woman (a pioneer) who called on and studied with my grandmother left "the truth" just a few years after my grandmother and my father were baptised.
That would have been in the 1950's.
