  i've noticed several people on this board mention they have fms and similar type afflictions.

  fms is known to be brought about by physical/emotional stress.

  i have suffered from it for many years.

  I used to be on Antidepressants. I used to be on Synthroid.

  Since leaving I'm not on either. I'm not on any Rx meds anymore. My thyroid just decided to start working again. (I've been told stress can cause and underactive thyroid.) My brain decided things didn't need to make sense any more. I didn't need answers to all the questions life has to offer. I just needed to live it.

  In my work I've found that there is a large number of JW patients who suffer from depression, anxiety, auto-immune diseases, and even what seems to be, a greater than average amount of joint replacements.

  going to a second DC

  one of my friends who still is "faithfull" told me he plans to go back to the dc this weekend, to catch a few talks that he missed due to being on bathroom attendant duty.

  did any of you know (or were you prone) to go to the same dc or assembly to catch parts you missed?

  frankly even when i was in if i missed it i did not feel the need to make up a meeting.

  In my opinion...

  to catch parts you missed = he/she didn't find the potential marriage mate at the first DC...so he/she's heading off to the 2nd hoping the missing parts will be found.

  What strange things do your pets like to eat?

  when i was a kid we had a small dog that loved spaghetti with tomato sauce.

  he was our witness dog that would sit near the table and wait until after the prayer to start begging for food.. the two cats i had for 12 years loved some really odd things.

  i was peeling corn on the cob tonight and missed having them pester me for raw corn niblets.

  Hey that is super cool, Rose! I wish my siblings and I could do something like that. What are your other tattoos?

  I have the butterfly on my lower back with the symbol, a rose on my left ankle, a ankle band with all my kids names (Brittany, Bryanna, Brooklyn, Brennan, Brailyn and Brandon), and the newest, a hummingbird on my leg near to the rose.

  I have 5 tattoos now (my last one 2 weeks ago), but while still a JW I got the Japanese symbol for 'Older Sister' tattooed to my lower back (with a butterfly.) My siblings, my sister (who's still a JW) has the matching 'Younger Sister,' my brother who lives in the Grand Cayman (& still a JW) has the 'Older Brother' symbol, and my youngest brother who never got baptized, and now lives in Berlin, has the 'Younger Brother' symbol.

  JWs Called at my House This Morning

  here it was memorial day morning, and i'm out in the front yard watering the gardens when i hear a car pulling up the driveway.

  it pulls into our section of the drive and i see it's a witness couple i know in the front seat.

  the wife is driving and they spot me right off.

  I ran into a JW from the hall I used to attend at the local produce store on Friday. This woman was doing such a great job of snubbing me, I thought....welll....I'm not finished shopping...but think I'm going to check out when she does. So I began unloading my grocery cart and my pineapple happened to touch her honeydew melon! She gave me the dirtiest (scared shi#less) look...I think she thinks I've now demonized her melon! Do you think she's going to feed the melon to her family now that I've possessed it?

  years ago when i was attending my old kh there was an elder that was very stern.

  bro glen(not his real name) used to be very firm in telling students about their talks not being good, or where they needed to improve.

  i know i was "terrified" of bro glen.

  Feb. 1999 - I've been baptized since 16, my husband never took "the plunge." Feb 22, 1999, I'm told by social services I have to have my husband out of the house by 3 pm, or they would apprehend my children. My youngest daughter had been injured by him and told her teacher what had happened. All kids were interviewed and gave the same story and similar stories of how he'd abused them

  Sept. 2003 - Husband is charged and convicted of criminal harassment and threatening conduct (of us), serves a 30-day sentence and 1 year probation.

  Dec 2005 - Ex husband gets baptized. Jehovah's holy spirit at work there!

  I have to make one of the toughest decisions of my life

  i am not even sure why i am posting because its so personal but i could really use some advice.

  i am also embarrassed that i got myself in this situation.

  My jw now-ex-husband left me 10 days before our 5th child was born. Our oldest was 5 at the time. Almost 13 years has passed now. I have managed to raise 6 kids on my own (yes, I had one more - another story). Honestly, it's not that difficult - challenging - but not impossible. My oldest is now in university. 4 of my 6 kids are now working.

  I know that when you're looking into the future, especially when the baby isn't even born yet, the thought of raising a child on your own seems incredibly daunting. However, in hindsight, if you set your mind to it, and take your role as single parent seriously, you can succeed. Do not feel you need the father in your life (I know that's hard to think). The father of my children didn't want anything to do with them, and that hurt. However, now I feel he actually did me a favour.

  Don't doubt yourself...if I can do it, you can too!

  yes, a person should never be too proud to swallow his pride, apologize, and seek forgiveness.

  I'm sorry...

  that I was born into a JW family.

  that I was made to feel left out growing up.

  that as a child I was sexually abused by an elder.

  that as a child I was sexually abused by another brother.

  that I was baptized before I understood.

  that I married before I was ready.

  that my son-of-an-elder-ex-husband left me 10 days before our 5th child was born and moved in with a woman from his work, only to read in the local news paper that he had been arrested for cocaine possession.

  that my ex-husband's elder father had a baby with my ex-husbands sister. The abuse (according to my ex-sister-in-law) went on even while in field service and started when she was about 4 years old.

  that my 2nd jw husband was removed from my home by social services for abusing my children.

  that my 2nd jw husband was convicted (30 day sentence and 1 yr probation) for threatening and harassing my children and me.

  that I was raped by a family member...for which I was disfellowshipped for...and HE wasn't.

  I am sorry, JW that you just don't get it.
