JW wedding music songs! I promise not to sing at you!

i was having a reminising sort of day today and thinking about our wedding 22 years ago and the songs we picked for the ceremony.. we had first, 'love's excelling way'.. god is love, and therefore bids us, walk in love's excelling way,.

letting love of god and neighbour prompt all things we do and say.. for though we have faith and knowledge, gifts of tongues and prophecy,.

yet if love itself were lacking, we would simply nothing be.. .

I have a JW wedding horror story. I was married as a JW, my wife (now ex) and I both sat and maticulousley went through our cd collection and looked for "appropriate" music for our reception. After many many hours of nit picking and reading lyric sheets we compiled about four hours of dance music. We burned all of the chosen songs to disc, so all the dj had to do is press play. After about a half hour of no one dancing the "worldly" DJ decides he'd spice it up a bit in order to get people dancing. What do you think he played?? Thats right, Pussy control, by Prince. ........ That was a Huge problem as you could have imagined... What was worse is that I was in the Kitchen helping out my mom, and an elder came up to me and asked me what this song was doing being played...

Tell me about the "Kingdom Interlinear Translation Bible? Same as NWT?

a bible called "the kingdom interlinear bible" before they wrote the "new world translation bible".. she also told me there were differences in the translations of some of these scriptures.. can anyone tell me which scriptures are different?.

Another verse that really sat in my craw, was the translation of the infamous John 1:1. In the KIT you'll find they translated it correctly in greek as "the word was God" and in the NWT they deliberatley put the letter "a", which changes the whole scripture, stating that "the word was 'A' God". Just another way the JW's have tried to steal away the true diety of Jesus Christ. Another verse that will show that the JW have deliberatley changed scripture in order to make their theology work is found in Colossians 1:15-20. The NWT in these verses have deliberatley added the word "other" numerous times, but youll find that the word "other" never existed, just another way the WTBS has tried to steal away from who Jesus really was. Another neat thing to see is to find a old version of the NWT (prior to 1956) and read Hebrews 1:6 the older versions said "let all Gods angels WORSHIP him" -referring to Jesus, the newer translations have been changed to read "let all Gods angels do obescience to him". It really is a eye opener especially when you never knew that the society ever made these changes, and if they made these changes why did they make them. I think we both know why they made them!! And thats just another reason Iam no longer a Jehovah's Witness.

Pagan Origins

have any of you discussed the contradictions in the dub beliefs as regards the pagan roots of certain practices or beliefs?

if so, with what success?

i mean if we reject religious customs that had pagan roots outright, then why not with the 1914 doctrine?

popularity didnt prevent the WTBS from discofellowshipping Micheal Jackson in the peak of his prime. I bet you he regrets that, at least in the organization you can molest and be protected!!

Do you ever notice that even when you are kind and listen to the JW presentation, that when you finally do get a chance to speak and start to show JW's some things that they may have never read in there own bibles they quickly say " well I see your minds already made up, we have to get going now"? That happened to me about three weeks ago. I told the man that Im very sincerly interested in the truth, and Im sure you are too right? He stated that he was. I said "well lets examine the history of the Jehovahs Witnesses and see if we see a pattern of truth, or a pattern of lies, after all, you did say you were interested in the truth right?" He sat there with a constipated look on his face and said that he already knows that he has the truth, and he thanked me for my time and left. As he was leaving I said " I guess I can see whos mind is really already made up." -- better get your shades on the lights gonna get pretty bright now!!

My parents would wake my brothers and I up at the crack of dawn to sit at the doors of the convention hall on drama day so we could get "good seats". One day we went there at did exactly that, we moved someone elses books and put down our brief case and books at those seats!! I still remember the faces of the family that came that morning to claim there seats. ---- Thank God theres no hell--- j/k

I know Im preaching to the chior here, but did you ever realize the JW have every base covered. For instance, If the numbers look like they are climbing, they quote the scripture "a small flock will become a mighty nation". If the numbers are down they Quote the scripture, " the love of the greater number will fall away in those last days". - this is a loose paraphrase of the quotations, but Im sure you all know what Im talking about.

Just a side note, alot of times I would either forget or wouldnt send in my feild service report to the service overseer. It would always be funny, I wouldnt go to the kingdom hall or book study, but yet they'd call to get my time, Id always make up some wild numbers but I always had over 10 hours. (NOT)

but when I said I was a JW, his eyeballs suddenly rolled backwards and his eyes went completely white, no eyeballs to be seen - and this is completely true! He was like a zombie. I of course was convinced he was possessed. He told me to wait and went into the house (how he could see with "no eyes" I don't understand), while telling me the local police had allowed him to kill every JW he could find.

Everyone at the Assembly gasped with awe!!! Proof again that satan hates the witnessing work and that we are in the troof, I mean truth.

I was a third generation JW. All of my family, aunts uncles, grandma, cousins are all Jehovahs Witnesses. I have four younger brothers. My younger brother was disfellowshipped before I left. After uncovering all the lies and the deception of the WTS, I showed showed my disfellowshipped brother. Even being disfellowshipped he didnt want to belive it either!! Eventually he came around after showing him actual publications and actual bibles where they had changed the words, or outrightly lied. He was shocked!! My brother is no longer a Jehovahs Witness. My youngest brother is now looking. There is hope! Jehovahs Witnesses are very print orientaded, make sure you show him/her the actual publications if you have them, or at least print them off photocopies with the references where they can go to the Kingdom Hall library and see for themselves. Once they see the pattern of lies and deceptions the WTS will fall down like a house of cards. VERY IMPORTANT!! --> Make sure you somehow show it to them as if you were wondering if this is true. DO NOT act as though your showing them, make them show you. Jehovahs Witnesses are trained to be the teacher, not the taught. phrase things with key words like : Can you HELP me? I have a QUESTION I was wondering about? Is this true? Did the WTS really print this? a JW will shut down when you begin to show them or try to convince them that THEY are WRONG. whatever you do try not to come off as an apostate. or a opposer, they will no longer listen to you, and your oppertunity to talk with your JW loved one will be cut off.
