Your favorite Sunday breakfast
by Layla33 insince i am about to partake (*smile*) in my favorite sunday breakfast, i thought it would be fun for everyone to describe their favorite breakfast here.. sunday breakfast was always a big deal for my family and growing up, it was the one day and time that we actually sat together had breakfast and talked about our week and sat for a good hour or so just catching up with each other.. for over 20 years, this breakfast consisted of bacon, sausage (kielbasa or italian), biscuits, eggs (cheese or plain), and grits.
to this day, i still feel it's a special nice time.. do share, i thought it would be fun to see other people's traditions on sunday breakfast....

The cry of "Peace and Security"
by Olin Moyles Ghost inanyone who has been associated with the witnesses for any period of time is familiar with 1 thess.
5:2 - "whenever it is that they are saying: peace and security!
then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape.

I have been out for 28 years and they were saying this in the 70's. I don't know how sudden destruction can wait all these years, How sudden is it?

IMPORTANT: Elders Mtg at Patterson
by confusa ina witness just informed me about a couple that we know who had their assembly recently, and it was announced at the private elder's meeting that there will be a special meeting with all the elders in the us in patterson.
it was mentioned that we are now living "in the end of end of times" and that the un is talking about prohibiting religions.
has anyone heard of this??

The U.N. does not have the power to ban religion, it would have to be done by the various country governments. I doubt if you will ever see it happen.

I left after 9 years ...
by sacolton ini just disassociated myself after nine long years in the wtbts after researching the history of the wtbts and its founders and their lies, false prophecies and mind-control doctrines.
read my profile for more about that.
anyway, i'm glad there is a wonderful support group for those who have escaped the grasp of the wtbts and enjoy life again without the constant fear that the wtbts instills at every meeting.

I have been out now for almost 28 years. (1980) I have been and still am shunned by my three daughters who are still hanging on even though they are not that active. I have two siblings that do the same, (younger brother and older sister) My older sister was in the restaurant where my son and I were eating last week. I totally shunned them, my son thought that was funny. I do however miss my daughters and hope someday they cut the strings from the borg. But I never give up hope.

What J.W teaching did you find the hardest to accept??
by karter infor me it was the fact that god is allowing all these innocent people to get killed to prove a point ,i mean it was a big bet he had with satan.. i explained it to my wife this way if i had our children killed in the most horriable way just to show they couldn't live without me how does that make me look?.

#1 ..that only JW's would be saved, I knew some really decent people that lived more holy then I and many of my witness friends. Why would a loving god kill people that loved him.
#2 disfellowshipping

This is my first post after many years of reading this site
by And He Ran inthis is my first post after many years of reading this site.
i am from the west midlands, england.
i was raised as a jw and got baptised aged 17, started "fading" whilst at university when i started to broaden my outlook and realised that all the so-called "worldly people" i had for so long been encouraged to avoid associating with were actually often open-minded, honest, generous and loyal people.
