Hey Eddie........ you're a good man. I wish you tons of success seeing that you're putting a lot of hard work into your enterprise. My family business just purchased a large facility so we have a lot of work ahead. Which is a good thing because the last three weeks have been the worst of my life. Your wife will come around when the profits begin and the bank account grows hehehe. Word of mouth is great advertising - and it's free! Be careful how much money you spend on marketing, but you do gotta do it, you need what I call call "premium costumers"... the ones who trust you implictly and pay you no-questions-asked. You still have to have the difficult and profitless customers (I take care of them mostly out of conscience) but if you don't get word of mouth benefits at least you have something to feel good about.

You are a rare person I've met that has been able to bring spirituality (not religion) and worldly wisdom to success. Even though we'll probably never meet I'll never forget you.

Edited to add: you seem busy enough. Sure you want to bother wish a JW related website? Also my personal life has been hell. This month of March I lost a lot of my soul, my fiance, I have multiple chronic health issues, and any spirituality I had left in me. I'm in therapy hoping for brighter days ahead. A weather change would be nice, it's still cold and snowy here in Buffalo. So I took a couple of weeks off of work and I'm re-finding myself.

On a serious note, I would go if my mother or father asked me to go. Of course I don't think dad's been to one in a few years and Mom respects my religious choices. But that's about the only way they could get me to go. In 2000 two elders followed me home, came into my home, and pretended to invite me to the Memorial, but in reality they were there to serve me notice that I was in the process of being DF'd (which was silly because I wasn't associating anyway). I've lived in other places since, but that day they sat on my couch four feet from where I type now. No, I'm sorry, the Memorial might be a special JW ritual with the nostalgia and reverence that goes along with it but it'll always be something associated with evil and wickedness to me.

Edited to add: Eduardo, it looks like you're really doing well for yourself. I'm proud. It _almost_ makes me want to dig up my H2O CDROMs and look for your posts going back 6 or 7 years.

the watchtowers call to all congregations for accountants and lawyers especially those familiar with tax laws makes me seriously think they may be in hot water.

since the watchtower organization has been very vocal especially in the past about its anti-government stanse and its df'ing of persons that join the military,or other government jobs, i'm willing to speculate that the united state counter intellignece agency has seen the need to sneak some of its agents inside the wt, for internal security purposes.

also i'm sure that the internal revenue has been keeping a close eye on the gb,, the reason being that they are a huge cash cow, and a dishonest coniving mind control cult.

Nathan Knorr was no dummy. Those he trained in the fields of business were no dummies. The current presidents and officers of the different WT corporations are no dummies. The WT is known for hiring or using the best lawyers in the world when needed. I doubt they'd knowingly practice anything illegal monetary-wise and if they DID screw something up they'd fix it fast.

i have thought about putting togther an apostaglossary to identify those particular sayings and their true meaning; i have included a few to start the ball rolling;.

Neighbor: "I'm so glad you left the JW organization"

so i was out working in my yard the other day.

i've met a lot of my neighbors that i didn't know recently, because as i'm working in the yard, they stop by to chat as they're walking the dog, etc.

i'm really getting to know the neighborhood.

I don't have much to do with my neighbors because I like peace and quiet, but occasionally they knock on my door for some help or I stand next to the fence and chat for a bit. I don't know if other than they ones next door that have been here 30 years if they know I am ex-JW or not, or if they knew if my ex-wife was a JW. I don't think anyone here cares that much.

Funny, when I grew up in old neighborhood, my JW parents were very friendly with all the worldy neighbors on our block. We knew everybody's names and their stories and we would share car rides to school with the girls across the street and my mom would share recipies and dishes with the other moms and we'd play with the neighborhood kids all the time and my dad would do favors for older folks' homes that needed this or that. I have dreams about 'the old neighborhood' all the time. In that respect I lived a pretty normal childhood.

Edited to add: how come my Bill Shatner post was moved to Entertainment but this one wasn't moved to Personal Experiences? huh huh? Just kidding. SNG, always love your posts man. If I were gay I'd be all over you.

Glad you guys like Shatner too. He's a real hero to me. When he dies (he has a great song and a great line in that song about maybe being dead by the time you listen to the CD) I will mourn for weeks. Also glad you found this thread as it was moved. I can't believe how busy and looked after this board is.

i had heard of accounts of young baptisms, but i figured it was the exception rather than the rule.

now i wonder, after viewing the models of youth paraded at the last assembly.

i took note of the ages and age of baptism of the five young men (no girls this time) who were interviewed as models of jw youth at this last week's assembly.

When you get well into your thirties and look back at your teenage JW life, you realize you had a lot more in common with the misfits and punks because they were (posering or not) into anarchy. While you were too much of a pu$$y-wimp to join them, you respected them because they maintained a similar ideolgy - this world is a waste of time and ought to be destroyed. You just believed an invisible man in the sky was gonna take care of it. Now those misfits and punks are college graduates with degrees, families, great jobs, and you feel like a big fat loser.

Ben Folds cowrites, plays piano and organ and produces it. Matt Chamberlain drums. Shatner lyrics are hilarious, healtfelt, disturbing. He seems to be speaking from the heart and it just about has me convinced it's true. Themes ranges from death, to family, to fun, to outrage. It's a record you can't not stop whatever you're doing and pay attention.

Good answer, confused. Also e-watchman is seriously delusional. Maybe a bit jealous, OR upset that Ray hasn't done MORE other than write his books and return letters and live as quiet a life as he can.
