  Question About Eyeglasses

  my wife just spent $900 on 4 pair of eyeglasses.

  is it just me, or is that waaaaaay too much money?

  i don't wear glasses anymore (laser surgery), but isn't this too much?

  I Can't Do Any More - Can You?

  when i first posted here, i explained that it was because although i am not, never have been, never will, be a jw, i have (earthly, as an atheist) loving concern for my jw neighbours/friends.. just recently, i found out that the mom is pregnant.

  she is not young, has a 6 year old, and a 2 year old who is like a firecracker!.

  i have offered to do basic things like take/collect the 6 year old to and from school, take the kids for walks on beach, etc.

  I've been invited to the most boring Bday party ever (Fluff)

  one of my hubby's work mates are having a combined party for there bday (hubby and wife), they are nerdy programmers heheh, nice enuf people but not ones that i would chose to associate with.. anyway this is the party for the guys they are to bring there computers for a lan, or boardgames and card games, and for us lucky women activites include watching girly movies, knitting, facials and painting nails.

  no jokes thats how the invite reads...... i am so not looking forward to it at all, its like 4 hours of my life im never going to get back.

  the alternative light i have received regarding early christianity has made me wonder whether jws have unwittingly got it right regarding the status of jesus.

  a lot of strong criticism is made on this forum about jws sidelining of jesus in preference for jehovah the jewish god.

  they have been equated with judaism because of their lack of inclusion of christ in their worship as well as their draconian code of expected conduct.

  Dark Chocolate recommendation

  i live in the us and would like to experiment tasting some dark chocolates.

  i've tried hershey's extra dark, 60%.

  it was ok. i think i would like something a little stronger and with a better "feel"...the hershey bar melted fine, but had a "waxy" feel/taste.. i'd even like to try a chocolate made outside the us, but would be concerned about shipping (i wouldn't want it to melt).

  I contacted my Elder father and mom...

  after 8 mos of shunning acknowledged by familia and friends, i contacted my elder dad - mike, and he put my mommy on the phone for support - she was never the touchy feely type - more the depressed secluded type.

  i wanted to know if my dad had any reason why i shouldn't send my official da letter to 2 congregations and parishioners (since my first request was denied).

  he told me they then could have no contact with me, instead of limited contact.... i told them my jw family has had no contact with me since october and i did not even receive an invite to my baby sister's wedding in december- who i raised and cared for for 3 1/2 years while my mother was in a depression and had health problems.

  well i got into poop with my wife once again.

  i don't know how this happens.. she got grumpy at me for some reason or another and stomped out of the room.

  she should realise that i was looking after her own best interests.
