i have always wondered why the jw's don't have a playroom/area or offer kids activities during the meetings.
i would imagine it's been brought to the societys attention at some point.
it just makes so much sense to offer a place where kids and go and play, where they can be read to, have them sing, color pages on bible related stories etc..... .
I currently go to a non-denominational church, and they offer seperate rooms for each grade and age group. It is fantastic, and I cannot praise it enough.
The WTS just wants to be different at all costs, and it is stupid, and are only hurting themselves.
I have a toddler, and I cannot imagine trying to sit through the meeting for two hours, trying to keep him from running everywhere. There just is no possible way at all.
i watched a tv show last night on tlc.
it was talking about noah's ark and all that stuff.
the thing that stuck out in my mind and made me laugh out loud was this....they interviewed many scientist and they all said the same thing, ''there is no natural evidence that a wordly flood ever took place.''.
For those who believe the story of the flood, one thing to remember, in regards to the structual integrity of the ark, is that if God deluged the earth with a flood, don't you think that God could keep the boat together?
a few months ago we had a local needs part about supporting the cbs field service on saturday.
it was given by a nice older elder, but what he said was pretty scary.
he used all the phrases and logic that are usually used for meeting attendance.
I just hated going out in service, I don't care which day it was.
I always hated those that went after the morning meeting, and people coming up to you and asking if you were going out. When you told them know, they always looked shocked.
i publicly said the pledge of allegiance with my right hand over my heart.
the irony of it all is it happened during vacation bible school this week in my church's sanctuary.
it felt good.
I have been saying the pledge for years. It still feels weird, though I don't feel guilty about it. I know I am doing nothing wrong.
hello everyone, im in a bit of a dilema here, ive been dating a girl who is studying with the jws, not babtized yet, but wants to just as soon as she is ready to fully dedicate herself.
anyhow ive tried reasoning with here concerning scripture only to have her say that she doesnt really now but will ask someone (elder).
so in an attempt to discredit the wtbs i purchased some materials from watchmen on the false dates and doctrine reversals.
When confronted with the real truth, the loyal JW has a very tough time believing it. They cannot believe it is true.

When I was growing up, the drama's were the only thing I looked forward to. I remember getting pissed if they didn't have one at all. Seemed like they were shorter all the time.
Still pisses me off that they are talking against education again. Right when my still active son is getting ready to figure out what he wants to do with college.

from the previews it looks like they have made dr. doom somewhat of a bafoon instead of the evil mastermind he really is.
Normally I do not care for these type of movies, however, this one looks good.
hello everyone, i have been keeping up with posts on this board for about four years now, been a member for about one year but have never had the courage to make my first post.
so now i'm going to make that first step to get rid of that fear i had of betraying myself, and vent my experiences and frustrations with this faith.
i think this board will be a good way for me to make acquaintances of people with similar feelings that i have regarding the jehovah's witnesses, as well as a good outlet for my frustrations as a jw, and get some advice as to maybe getting a reasonable exit strategy in the near future.
