when i was a witness, we would sometimes get people who were disfellowshiped or disassociated that protested the assemblies or kingdom hall.
perhaps there are a few who have done this on this board.
i remember a few comments made by people in the congregation when they saw these people.
It is very simple.
Treat others like you want to be treated. No more, no less.
Witnesses wishing others to be hurt in some way is wrong, just as for us to want others hurt just for believing in something different than for ourselves is wrong.
Personally, I do not wish witnesses sorrow, but do feel sad for them in my heart, as they are so mislead. Big difference between that and wishing them evil.

birthdays, holidays, attending another church?
i've been away from the borg for two months.
They will find out, and if they can, they will absolutely do everything within their power to df or da you. Just be on the look out. As soon as they try something, then you can go ahead a da yourself if that is what you want.
i found it humorous and sad and revealing when i was in jerhover's borganization that this is the reaction i often got from the younger, raised in the troof jws.
reading facial expressions and body language, it was more than apparent to me that they were thinking, "you mean you weren't forced into this??
you actually chose to be a jw??!!".
Timing has to be so perfect for a person as an adult to conform to witness ways.
It would be interesting to see what the REAL numbers are of new converts. How many of the new baptized actually came from door to door preaching. My guess is in the free countries, that they have been there awhile, the numbers are not so great. Mostly those raised as a witness, knowing no better. Also, perhaps the numbers would be greater in third world countries, where the witness are a new thing, and free communication is not quickly available.
has anyone on the board ever joined a cong as an unknown apostate, gained a reputation, and then tried to show certain members the errors in their ways. i'm in a sitation that makes the following hypothetical possible. should i do it...has anyone attemted it? thoughts?
I think that the second a person were to start questioning things, red flags will go up, and no one will listen.
The best weapon in getting the witnesses to understand, I completely believe is the internet. When people can look on websites in the privacy of their own home, that will be the best way. Person to person is near impossible, in my opinion.
When people are good and ready, and daring, then they will look on the internet. More and more people each day sign up to the internet, so eventually the internet will be available to most.
Remember, doubts cannot be talked about in the hall. Not even with your best friend.
what the hell is wrong with you lot.....ok although i'm inactive, and many of you will tell me to get my ass back to the kh and stay off sites like these if i don't like it,........i have to say that reading some of your posts from the past couple of days has been a really a hard slog, some of you have spent time in previous posts deriding jws for claiming to be "the happiest people on earth"......but from someone who's inactive, and on this side of the fence, i don't smell no roses much from where you're coming from.
what is wrong with you happy apostates, i thought you said life outside the borg(tm) was just great.

I certainly without a doubt feel more happiness from the people who post here than I did in any Kingdom Hall.
Life is not perfect, and there will be ups and downs, regardless of being a witness or not. But those here, have chosen to life a more fulfilled life, and found it outside the direction of the WTS.
This is a place to write thought provoking questions, to have fun, to joke around, ponder, and ask and talk about serious things too.
I thank Simon and those who make a site like this possible, where we can share experiences in life.
jehovah's witness elders are really managers appointed by headquarters to manage the local operation of the kingdom halls.
forget all this "spirit appointed" stuff.
they cannot make a decision without following wt directives, or checking the wt bound volumes, or contacting brooklyn itself..."hello service department?...help!
I agree. Be a male, ass kiss as much as you possibly can, and eventually be appointed an elder. Just don't step on another elders toes, or threaten his position. Then you will be given the opportunity to "minister" to others, when you have no formal training. But don't worry, you can count on the WTS, they will direct your moves.
i have mentioned before how disappointed i was that in the years that i have been in business, the witnesses have done their business territory around me, but don't call on my place of business.
now, they have no idea who i am, so they have no reason not to come.. well, yesterday they came.
what sucks is that i was not there!
All I gotta say, is that we gotta have fun!
If we don't, we are going to be very miserable.

not to judge our witness friends or relatives at all, but:.
isn't it refreshing that now we are free to have friends that do not judge us regarding what we believe, what we do, etc.
all the things that as witnesses we could not do, now we can, and our friends are not going to "turn us in" for not following the wts rules.
Now that we are out "in the world" I have found it not to be a scary evil place, where you cannot trust anyone.
Sure, there are those out there that we would never consider to be friends with, but overall, I find the people that I choose to be around warm, loving, and caring.
And to be taught that "apostates" are so horrible, and evil. I have found from my time on this site, that the major ones to have an ax to grind, and being hateful, are the occasional witnesses that come online.
my grandson's wife is staying at my daughters with her newborn son(my great grandson).
they have a room in the basement.
last night she said something was holding her in the bed and wouldn't let her go to her new baby.
Do not know how much actual "demonic" stuff is out there. I have seen a ghost on many occasions, however no harm was done to me.
For one to do something as posted above, I find that odd, but who knows? There probably is a much more simple explanation.
